Andalusian filly height guess - not sure if this is the right place?

Hey Guys! I’m new and this is my first forum post, so forgive any mistakes! (and please direct me to the correct forum if I’m in the wrong one. I haven’t had a chance to explore too much.)

have a 2 year old Andalusian filly (turned 2 on April 1 of 2018) and I just sticked her at 15.3 ½ …(yes that 1/2 " is super important! Lol!), and I’m wondering at what a good guestimate of her end size would be? Her dam is 16.3 and Sire is 16.2 I believe. I’d love her to reach a solid 16.2+! She string tested between 16.3hh and 17hh, but she’s my first Andalusian and first super young horse I’ve ever had (bought her when she was 6 mos old).

Any input would be welcome!

Thank you!

My experience is that you can count on 3 to 4 more inches between ages 2 and 3. And 1 to 2 inches more once they start saddle training and “pop” a wither (i.e. strengthen their core enough to be able to lift the back). Caveat is that I do not have any experience with Spanish horses, so ymmv.

I think string test tends to overestimate, but I’d guess she’ll make 16.2. My gelding was 16.1 at 2.5 and hit 17h

What about a 14 month old RID colt that sticks at 15.1hh? And how does this “string test” work?

My Andalusian I got at a 2 year old and was 14.3. Shes now about 3.5 and sticks at almost 15.1. I’m guessing as she fills out and keeps growing she will hit 15.2-15.3. Her dam is 14.3 and sire was 15.1 because she is already 15.1 I’m thinking shes going to grow a couple more inches. I would guess he would reach 16.2 if not grow more.
