Andis Heavy Duty Cordless Cattle & Horse Clippers #68005 RC

I am considering buying the above-mentioned clippers. (Currently available for $365 from Smartpak with the 15% off sale: https://www.smartpakequine.com/andis-cordless-body-clipper-4747p) Has anyone used them? They have been on the market since 2006 so I find it curious that I haven’t encountered them in person and wonder if that’s due to performance or the price point. I’d like to know:

a) if they are substantially heavier than the corded model or Clipmasters

b) if the battery really does last an hour and recharge in an hour

c) if there are any other comparable clippers on the market

Any feedback appreciated and I apologize if this has been addressed elsewhere. I searched, but didn’t find…

I have these. I love them. Cheaper than the ones you have with a cord, which I think is better.

I’ve had these for about five years and haven’t changed the blade yet. They are so light and quiet I do everything from head to toe with them. I would not go with heavier ones. I used to have a different brand like that, and it is much harder to clip.

Thanks for the feedback. I’ve been intrigued by that model in the store as they seem so much lighter than similar corded clippers – good to hear they work. I’m really looking for cordless (if it works as they say) and willing to put the $$$ in and get a spare battery, too. If I can clip in a barn without easy access to power AND be done dragging cords around, it’s worth the extra arm muscle for the battery weight, to me. I just want to make sure the batteries hold up before buying.

Well…I bit the bullet and did it. If I regret spending the money after first clip, I will send them right back to SmartPak thanks to their wonderful return policy.
