telling quote: ““He was lit yeah; that’s kind of how he goes to be honest,” Kocher said.”
I do see that wire in the first photo.
And does anyone else find his thumb position to be odd? Who releases with their thump straight up (unless you have a device with a button in your hand)?
And what GP rider does not carry a bat? In the hundreds of vids he has on his youtube channel, never a bat.
You can see the wire in the photo. He had the horse cremated - no doubt so no-one could see the subdermal bruising.
Can you explain where you are seeing the wire in the photo in that article. I am feelin stupid because I just can not find it.
(I believe that it is there, I am not saying I doubt its existence. I am saying I can not find it.)
Same, I can’t see it.
Don’t worry, I don’t think those pictures were the ones used by the FEI to ban AK.
Now that people know, they believe the can clearly see it everywhere - it’s normal.
One photo seems to show a distinctive grayer line on the front of his thigh - which could be a wire.
On the other pictures, Andy seems to carry something in his hand - weird way of positionning his thumb, seems to have a hand full while just holding one rein?
Add the fact that he doesn’t carry a bat, like every other rider, and voilà!
You have a good eye.
Strange, I still do not see it in that photo.
I don’t know that I could say with certainty why but in that photo I do see that his pants are wrinkling in a funny way that doesn’t align with just the angle of where his leg seems to be in the pant. Something else seems to be tenting the fabric out.
Not sure if this was shared here yet?
Clicker-clicker training ‘excuse’…???
Here’s a clear photo showing the wire. https://www.horse-international.com/kocher-has-been-compromised-again/
Thanks for the link.
I believe there is a wire. I totally believe this was done (and that it is horrible).
I was just not able to see a wire in the photo in that particular article mentioned, that I quoted.
It is obvious in that close up shot in the article you linked.
I couldn’t see the wires in the other link either. I remembered there was one photo where it was very clear so linked to that one.
What a wanker. A pony thieving, goat smothering, horse abusing wanker.
Goodness. I just read the Chronicle story about this and it seems like everyone in the story is complicit. There’s some serious drama here. You’ve got the history of abuse, the sale lawsuits, the crazy ex-girlfriend with a grudge, AND the former employees who all clearly went along with this. They’re all trying to save their own skin because they were so clearly complicit. Reading the article, I was just wondering what the heck was wrong with everyone in the story.
My favorite was the employee who said “she never used the electrical device in competition,” which implies that she DID use it in training. If she used it in training, she used it in competitions, and saying “I only used it to train” doesn’t make her look any less crap as a person.
For a minute I considered that the ex is taking some revenge on AK for the acrimonious split, but reading everything else, that’s just not the case. She KNEW he was doing all this (and so did the employees and they admitted it!) and NOT A SINGLE ONE OF THEM ever went to USEF/FEI and reported him. Every single one of them (and every owner and employee he currently has) should be permanently banned and not allowed near animals.
Ugh everything about this entire story is completely vile and heartbreaking.
Edit: Sorry, looks like the last response was a few days ago, but I couldn’t help but share my thoughts.
I read the FEI report. It’s a long slog but more complete. https://inside.fei.org/system/files/C20-0060_Final%20Decision_Mr%20Kocher%20HA02%20PDF.pdf
@sassybrat. didn’t we read a quote by AK when someone saw the electronics in his trunk? Something to the effect of “I don’t use that anymore”. What!!?? And, “I only make that stuff for other people.” Also, what!!!??
To my eye, in the horse-international photo collage the wire is readily apparent in the pic of his leg – it’s running down the front of his thigh/knee. Something definitely looks off in the photo showing the outside of his wrist. There’s a weird ridge that doesn’t follow what I think of as the normal contours of the head of the ulna. And that purple wrist tape it looks like there’s a part where they pinched it together at the bottom. There’s something funky about the way he loops his reins up around his hand. Even when he’s only using a single rein. At least to my eye.
I’ll never understand some folks. Wouldn’t it be a lot easier to – oh, I don’t know – learn to ride correctly? I suppose some people cheat more for the adrenaline rush than anything else.
