Spruce meadows generally ask (tell) riders like that to not come back! And shocker Andy Kocher was not at spruce at the masters!!! There was a rider here quite a few years ago that had a terrible round in the derby and he was told he couldn’t show at Spruce again (turned out he was also a cocaine smuggler and into many disgusting things with animals)…he used to post on here and a few of us outed him after seeing him actually ride in person and knowing full well he “wasn’t all that and a bag of chips”!

I’m glad someone has a clue and didn’t invite him back after that utter sh*tshow.
I do think it will be interesting to watch this one and see how the federations choose to handle this situation. It will speak volumes. I’ve not been super impressed up to this point and I honestly don’t believe the FEI takes abuse that seriously. We shall see.

Do a search on here for Doug Spink and a stallion named Capone I. Lots will come up. That has been its own soap opera which you can also read on various threads on the COTH bulletin board. That poor stallion has been through the wringer!
Both eclipse and myself do not live very far from Spruce Meadows. They definitely have a few of their own moral rules if you want to set foot on the property. Doug Spinks’ mother was wealthy and lived in PA or somewhere in the NE and that’s where his money came from. He was involved in a number of different sports - professing to be tops in all. He had a farm where he kept a number of animals and had disgusting men over for their use. He had Capone I and a grey stallion, whose name I cannot recall and not sure what happened to him. Both were confiscated but I think Corrine Super had a time and a legal battle recovering Capone from Doug who said he owned the stallion. He served time but is out - not sure what he’s doing but he is the worst of the worst. Some others were arrested at his farm for animal abuse including a man who came from England. Doug was a real know it all.

Doug claimed to have contracted cancer after his last prison stint a few years back, for some trouble he got himself into, and supposedly passed away in late January of this year. He also claimed to have been shot and needed reconstructive surgery on one of his legs due to “Police Brutality”. Whether or not he’s actually dead is anyone’s guess, but his “partner” made the announcement on social media and continues to defend him, saying that everything negative that he was known for was made up by jealous people to hurt him. Yes, he’s a delusional and deranged sex-positive “obsessed animal lover” like Doug was, so it’s to be expected.

Just to bring this back a bit on topic, while I don’t mind exposing all the other disgusting offenders, a show photographer that I know well just sent pictures of AK to the FEI because there were good shots of his handheld device… from last year, 2019 in Bromont.
So I guess the investigation won’t be limited to the 2018 period.

I examined several high-resolution images of his jumping that were used in media and saw physical indications of a wire - bulge - running from the front of his boot, into his breeches - disguised as a seam - and up into his shirt/jacket.

Makes you wonder who the seamstress (or man version) was who put it in there? Unless he was able to do it himself. I wouldn’t touch my $400 breeches with seam-rippers or a machine, personally…
Who was complacent in all of this? Why didn’t the grooms speak up? Wonder if any of them would/could speak up now if it comes to a “trial”.
Regardless, I Hope justice is served & these horses are given justice as well.
