The FEI tribunal is very thorough. This will take awhile. He’ll have a very difficult time getting them to buy any excuse he makes for that gear, that’s for sure.
They won’t care who reported him either, even if they did it out of spite.
It will probably be some time, assuming the FEI is satisfied they have enough evidence, before the Tribunal even takes up the matter.
I would guess a year or more before the situation is resolved. They move slowly but they have excellent resources.:yes:
There’s one « groom », a man who said to have taken care of his horses at Spruce last year, and that he, as an experienced trainer/rider/groom, haven’t seen anything.

From bits and pieces I’ve seen, I think the Eye Candy Jumpers lady (Erica?) may be involved here. Which is interesting, after the Spruce Meadows debacle and her tone deaf support of him and weird, laughy-mocky videos of her horses struggling Apparently they have parted ways and she has posted pictures of the device, and said some things online (I have not seen them personally, but seen this mentioned multiple times by others… just full disclosure that this may simply be rumor)
The video of device attached with the picture of him using it at spruce came directly from her - so no doubt she’s the source that reported. Not to mention she directly told one of his supports (and a trainer from my area) that she has more pictures and evidence to “end him”.

Just like owners who stay with trainers who routinely drug their horses. THEY DON’T CARE.
Just a heads up that sometimes sponsors are no longer supporting riders, but the riders leave the sponsor’s logo on their website.
Or the sponsors never did support the rider, but the rider uses their logo anyway.
What a jerk. Now she wants to “end him”. Up until recently, it was all ok.
She was complicit, and should be held accountable as well.
that seems like a lot to go thru to get dressed to ride… its’ disturbing that this sort of rig even came up… makes one wonder who else might be using such a thing… SMH
It certainly is one explanation for the frantic behavior some of his horses exhibit in the ring.
I don’t think the FEI will do anything, it’s all hearsay. I think they would have to catch him red-handed. I’m sure they’ll be very scrutinizing from this day forward though.
Well, not all hearsay. There are photos and he will have to explain that gear.
You may be right. I’ve given up on trying to predict what the FEI will do, but they are thorough and they’ve heard every excuse in the book.
Somebody 40 years ago when they finally started shrinking battery size, controller went in your pocket with a wire down rider leg way back. No idea how the charge would be activated these days but somebody has figured it out… Also hotwire across the top of rails probably since it was invented but personally seen since the the early 60s…by some often cited as “masters”.
Heard of, but never seen “ juiced” crops/whips and some other equipment in various other disciplines to “ enhance” performance when nobody is looking…unless they can figure out a way to conceal it in public.
Nothing is really new, just adapted as technology advances. Stuff like that has been around forever. Somebody is always about “anything to get them sold“ and/or “ win at any and all costs”. Its the underbelly of the business, those people are a minority but always there. Under the rocks. In all breeds and disciplines.
Where is Andrew Kocher now - what stable or whose horses is he riding and abusing? Do you think they know and just don’t care?
I’m seeing a rider boot check in the future. Check their spurs and crop when the horse gets their boots and bit checked. Doesn’t stop it from happening at home but it would be something.
His own and he has a few backers that still thinks he hung the moon.
If you want to know exactly where he is, he’s been showing in Culpeper. Rumors are he can’t get into NY because they aren’t accepting some states as entries, but I don’t know how much of that is actually true vs Culpeper is less eyes on him.
As long as it wins or gets sold They. Don’t. Care. Or they get snowed by a glib talking con man ( or woman).
