Does anyone know of a saddle maker by the name of Andy Hamilton. All I can find on him is he had past away a few years back . There is not much info on the net that I can find on him other than he was handy with leather. Reason I ask is I recently purchased on via private sale.
Anyone ever come across one of his saddles? Or have any information about them?
I know absolutely nothing about saddles. But Andy Hamilton was my uncle, my dad’s older brother. Conversation about him earlier led me to googling him and finding this post. (Yes I made an account just so I could reply) He passed away about 10 years ago. He’s a Texas native, born and raised in Ranger. And after being in the navy eventually chose to reside in New Jersey. I don’t remember too much about him except how involved in everything he was. He designed our schools mascot image. They even retired his football jersey. When he passed away, I remember someone sending a copy of a Texas magazine to us because his name was on the front page and his obituary was inside. Him and my dad shared their birthdays and he had actually passed away 5 days before his birthday, on Friday the 13th in October. My older brothers had lived with him for a while when I was a kid too and my dad would fly up there to visit him at his ranch. None of this may be the information you’re looking for but as a family member I could probably answer more than anyone else. After all the positive things I’ve read about this man and the few memories of him, I’m very proud to say I’m his niece.
Thanks a bunch for the info on Andy. Just an FYI I understand he designed a saddle for Robert Redford. Just thought you would like to know that.
I knew Andy. I bought a saddle from him. He was a great guy and a great saddle maker. I don’t know what you paid but you got yourself a good quality saddle

I have received a almost new Wade saddle made by Andy in a swap…anybody interested?
BTW…if you have a AH saddle, you may have my silver on it.

You read the requirements to post on these forums before signing up?
You are not supposed to advertise, as that one post sounds.
You may consider editing that so it doesn’t sound like an ad to sell a saddle.
If you want to put in an ad, go to the classified section.
Very interested…which Wade is it that you have? He made a few.
If you would be who I think you are, I am guaranteed it has your silver on almost all of them…
