You can buy ground anise. Ground fennel seed would also give you that flavor.
Fenugreek is also very popular. You can get that ground, too.
Check the bulk herb sellers online.

Is Anise and Aniseed the same thing? You can buy Aniseed where you buy bulk herbs for horses.
Anise is the plant. Aniseed is the seed of the anise plant.

Thank you for your helpful suggestions. Calf Manna has Anise flavor and I see Anise Oil is used. I don’t really want to use Calf Manna, but wondering if Anise Oil or Anise Extract might work?
Suppose it depends how you’re using it. Oil and extract are generally quite potent. It would be easy to overdo it, and may be difficult to disperse the flavor throughout the meal.
