I can’t believe it’s been that long! I remember Willem had a list of rules for horse owners, one of which was along the lines of “Let no day be a no karotten day.”
As my Wobbler travels his last few months I think, every day “Let no day be a no marshmallow day.” Because he loves marshmallows. He gets carrots too, but marshmallows are his special treat.

I’m a relative newbie on this forum, but I’ve spent the better part of my morning combing through the archives for the Willem threads (in 2003 I was 10 years old, so no concept of forums or COTH!)
Not to insert myself into an OG reunion here. But I thought you should know Willem’s story is making fresh eyes cry, 20 years later. What a good boy. You did right by him. May every horse be so loved.
(My favorite horse of all time was a massive chestnut Hanoverian… Goofy. Stately. Curious. Intelligent. And so kissable. Had a canter that felt like flying. They are something special.)
How is it possible that 20 years have gone by, that Oliver has joined Willem and Louie is enjoying mostly-retirement?
Willem and Aunt Esther always had me laughing and kept me entertained. So many names on this thread were with me through buying my first ever horse, Show, and all the subsequent greenie nonsense. There’s been 4 more horses since that time, with the newest back in the greenie club. I, of course, have not gotten a year older or gained a single pound…that’s how it works, right? 
Very much worth digging out the password for! I, too, cannot believe it’s been 20 years, but have enjoyed so much time here, so much wisdom, so much fun exchange (and some not-so-much as, well, alas). Anyhow, what a great occasion for a trot down memory lane!
As my mom said: “The older you get, the faster it goes.” She was right.
What a blessing these forums have been to me and many others over the years. Amazing horses, amazing ladies.
@Coreene and I connected out in Facebook land and I’m so glad we did. Distance matters not when you know you can pop into Messenger and get a laugh, a word of encouragement or a shoulder to cry on.
Same for @Freebird, @Fessy_s_Mom (who even went to check out a TB mare for me!), @MistyBlue, @Gnalli, @bird4416, etc etc etc. Heck Freebird and I have been friends now for 21 years! She’s even training my new 5-yr old mare, Maarah
These friendships, whether in real life or just over the webz, is the best of COTH forums for sure.
I can’t believe it’s been 20 years! I met so many wonderful people here, both virtually and in real life.
Sadly I was not here 20 years ago, but when I first joined CoTH I spent many an evening reading, laughing, crying and loving Willem and his (I loff her) Coreene.
If anything can be considered epic in the love of a horse, this was it. How wonderful that he stays in so many hearts after his journey over der rainbow bridge.
I can’t believe it has been 20 years! I am mostly a lurker, but I remember Willem in his heyday with great fondness. Thank you for coming back to say hello, Coreene!
Funny how anniversaries always stick in my mind. I first met Willem 31 years ago today - love at first sight. Thank you for being part of the journey

I miss MistyBlue (and lots of others but you mentioned her).
It is hard to believe that MistyBlue has not posted since 2017.
Indeed many of us olde timers are seeing names here that we have not seen in so very long. So many smart voices, so very much missed.
It’s hard to believe that it’s been so long. Der Karrrotten and Oh Mein Gott in Himmel are regular vocabulary still. Who could forget the laughter from the Virginia clicque when Willem told us where de baby horses come from? Your boy and his story - so well told- touched so many of us.
