Another bridle search - similar to old Aramas wide noseband

We’ve been out of horses for a minute but just imported a baby hunter from Europe to bring on. I had purchased an everyday bridle but don’t love it. I’m trying to find something similar to the Aramas wide noseband bridle we had back in the day.

Does anyone make something with the flat, square raised, fancy, wide noseband like the old Aramas? He’s currently sporting a wide, round raised, fancy but I think it’s a little much

You can still get the Aramas one from Tenney’s Saddlery, they have it on their website. You might also want to look at the Huntley ones too.

Thank you!

The Huntley’s are lovely

Try the Inn Gate Bridle: https://www.shoptheingate.com/products/the-in-gate-hunter-bridle-with-laced-reins. I love mine!

I also recommend The In Gate.

I too am an Aramas fan. If you have trouble finding one, I like the Ovation wide noseband almost as much. I don’t like the padded bridles either.

The In Gate bridle is lovely, too! I wish there was a virtual bridle try on a la Warby Parker lol

I don’t find the leather on the Ovations at all comparable to the old Aramas but the Ovations also cost less. The only leather I’ve found in the sub $500 including reins market that is at all close to the old HK is TIG.

I made a panic purchase when the horse was shipping and got the Smartpak Harwich wide noseband because it would arrive around the same time and somehow NONE of the 6 bridles in our collection were the right size for him. It does the trick, as in it holds a bit and has reins, but don’t love the look on him at. all. plus it looks a little plasticky

Oh my gosh, you apparently wrote this directly to me! My horse had the beautiful Aramas and broke it. Boo. Since a new one was pricey, I decided to try an Ovation that several COTHers recommended. Here’s a link: https://www.equestriancollections.com/english-horse-tack/english-horse-bridles/snaffle-bridles/ovation-fancy-comfort-crown-padded-bridle-wide-noseband.

I’m happy to report this bridle is remarkably similar to the Aramas. True, the leather may be a touch lower quality, but then again, the price point is pretty economical for a decent bridle.

Oh and it’s for sale here for even less…https://equineexchangestore.com/collections/tack/products/ovation-elite-collection-fancy-raised-comfort-crown-flat-wide-nose-padded-bridle-with-fancy-raised-laced-reins?variant=14804152746047

Well, back to the drawing board! We’ve tried the Arion bridle - beautiful leather and quality but just “too” much. Tried the In Gate and it is lovely, but the full size doesn’t really fit, Jimmy is a sweetheart and is going to see if he can help.

If that doesn’t work, how is the sizing on the Huntley? The horse has a very pretty, almost feminine head but I think fairly regular size?
