Another New Horse - It's Bo!

Prepare to be dazzled. He looks especially dashing today, despite the rain and mud.

Judgmental Looks: I’m pretty sure he’s still mad I electrified his gate.

His molting patches have a distinct pink baby hair growth

Why must you constantly take my picture?

Pay Attention to MEEEE…

Shortly thereafter, I dumped his dinner and he was more interested in me paying attention to him, even followed me back to the gate after I was done rubbing his itchy throat. He keeps trying to tell me SOMETHING, and I haven’t quite figured out what it is yet. Maybe he’s just itchy with all that shedding hair.

I see he is trying out those new fangled mud masks that the Gen Z are all about :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Oh, stunning look, Bo. But your mom must always take pics for your adoring fans. Yes, I itch just looking at his shedding patches so I’d say that’s a possibility. My horse loves one certain kid in the barn just because she has long nails and mine are stubbies that don’t scratch as well.

Thank you for the photos despite the awful weather! He is always adorable!

BTW, my DD and I vote that he’s an Appy cross - maybe Appy/TB. He is very similar to a no spot Appy that was my daughter’s favorite.

He has such a kind eye. I love how they always look like a curly coat in the rain.

That’s still my guess, too - but I’m curious to see what his summer coat looks like. Winter coats can hide so much in the way of coat markings.

Well, it’s still COLD today - feels like 25, but it’s not supposed to rain until dinner time, so I’m going to suit up and go do some de-shedding on Bo here in a bit. I’ll get proper weekly body pics then.

Yay! But don’t freeze yourself on our account. Add me to the “can’t wait to see what his coat looks like in April” club. I would consider a TBxApp a dream cross

Oh no, he’s been begging me to pay attention to him lately. DO something with MEEEE! I’m ready!

So, late-because-its-cold-and-wet Monday update on Tuesday: 10 weeks

He’s standing in a dip here, he’s not really that down hill. :joy: Elmo is, though!

He was full of sassiness today (for him). He is definitely ready for some action.

And in other news, I was just notified that school will be late-starting at 10am tomorrow, which is the exact time of my appointment (vet clinic is 45 minutes away from the school). So, am I going to be the bad client who cancels an appointment less than 24 hours in advance, or am I going to be the bad parent who calls their kid in sick to school for a vet appointment? I kept kid home yesterday because she had a stuffy nose and a sore throat, but sent her today (also a late start) because she seemed less so. So it wouldn’t be a stretch for her to be kept home again.

He looks a lot like Duke, just without the white.

And keep the kid home. TX drivers are crazy in this weather.

He’s too cute and looking healthier and healthier.

Another vote for keep the kiddo home. Trips to vet clinic are educational field trips!

Add me to the camp that thinks of the vet visit as a field trip! Bo is turning into a hunk.

I vote to keep the kid home.

We are very lucky that you share him with us!

I’m still thinking that his age is less that 18. Old horses don’t bounce back…like this.

(Generally speaking)

If he is indeed older than a teenager, he is very hardy. Sometimes I find it a mental challenge with these horses, not knowing any background or history, but I suppose it’s a good lesson in only living in the “now” and looking at the horse in front of you today. It’s also one of the reasons they sell SO cheaply (besides looking half-dead).

But I still want to know what happened to all those teeth!

Problem solved, school has been canceled for tomorrow due to the forecast! I mean, who doesn’t want to take 3 horses AND a 6 year old to the vet clinic alone?:rofl:

I will be watching the weather, but at this time it’s only showing 34° and rainy for tomorrow morning, no different than today and no hint of ice so I think we’re good to go. If I was headed north I’d reconsider, but the vet clinic is south of here and has basically the same predictions.

Take her with you. Vet appointments are always educational.

ETA: Man, I’m always late to the party. @lenapesadie beat me to it.

 I have only one and that is plenty! I’m sure it will be super educational, with the vet AND the dentist on board. We’ve got 3 floats, plus Bo’s exam and blood draw, and also

all ponies are getting freeze branded with my recently designed and registered brand. :see_no_evil:
