Another stirrup question

Does anyone know the story behind the Samshield Shield’Rup safety stirrups? They’re all over on line, but none of my local tack shops have them in stock. Anytime I look at the on line sellers, they are also, not in stock. Is there a manufacturing problem or??? I’d really, REALLY love to see them in “real life”. They’re super expensive, but oh so beautiful. I might be willing to purchase if I could actually see the product.

I’m no longer using my Shield’Rups, but last year I bought a pair from a company in the UK that answered my questions promptly. https://www.forelockandload.com/prod…drup-stirrups/. They were cheaper than I could find them here and the shipping was quick — 6 days (though that was pre-COVID). I did get complements on how they looked, but my feet tended to wander a bit on them. However, that was for jumping, and you posted in the dressage forum, so the experience might be different. And maybe I should try the Shield’Rups again, now that the ankle I broke last year is in near-normal condition now.

Honestly, I feel like I’ve tried almost every safety stirrup out there, so if you want to know about some other options as I tried what feels like all of them, LOL, you can read a thread on that here: https://www.chronofhorse.com/forum/f…or-swiss-clips) My favorites for dressage are the Rid’Ups. I bought blue ones last year from https://equineww.ca/products/ridup-s…37927b8d&_ss=r (price in Canadian $). You might be able to buy them elsewhere now, I’m not sure.

Good luck!
