another tack thread-new Antares headpice, I'm liking it!

Thank you! Is your horse a sooty buckskin? I’m soooo jealous if he is! That’s quite a piece of leather behind the ears. It looks like it’s still right up against the base of the ear, cut back and padded yes, but it’s still right up against?[/QUOTE]

Yes, he is sooty buckskin. I lurve his color

The bridle is against the base of the ear but that padded piece is kind of funky. It basically feels like a piece of latex rubber underneath the leather and it’s extremely soft, so while it’s there, it bends out of the way. It’s definitely a piece of equipment that it helps to see/feel in person first.

Agree with this. I adore Antares tack, my day to day bridles all come from them and I have managed to get one of the Precision bridles through a friend who is sponsored by Antares. Haven’t used it yet as it literally arrived over the weekend but that photo makes it look like it sits closer to the base of the ears than the original bridles? I hate anything sitting right against the base of the ears, I better try it on mine and see if it’s the case. From a strictly aesthetical point of view, I am sad that the brown leather isn’t the same as the original brown which was lighter and just far more beautiful a colour than the darker brown of the precision bridle. I am glad now that I didn’t just buy the headstall as it would have clashed horribly when I buckled it into the noseband of the original bridle.

I was originally buying the headpiece for 200 euros which was through Antares France directly. Exchange rates would make that about 225 USD, is it being sold in the USA for $350?

It is!
