Any Dauphin's foals here? PROUD MAMA #72

Rodawn: Foal will be register with GOV, Dauphin is GOV approved.
Mare is already in foal so will see in 9 months! Mare is not behind at the knee.

Sylvan : Haha Yes i’m so excited about it, can’t help lol! I’m not a breeder, this is my first and only foal so he is quite important for me!

Here’s a picture I took of Dauphin at the completion of the 11 month test at Adelheidsdorf. I would not say he was back at the knee, especially if you see him in the flesh. And he has a wonderful temperament, really well behaved and likes people. Dauphin is fully approved by the AHS and HV. He is leased by Celle from the owners at Marefield Meadows. Contact them for his frozen here in NA.

This stallion is georgous! (:D)

If you have any other pictures, can you send them to me via email? There is so few of them on the net! Thanks!

I saw a beautiful yearling colt by Dauphin/Ferro, with SPOTS (!) at my Hanoverian inspection this weekend… He’s a beautiful black and white tobiano.
Really? I thought “pinto” was a non-allowed color for the Hanoverians. Did they change that?
The frozen semen list for Celle states Dauphin is “not for Canada and the USA.”
I believe this is because Celle’s lease agreement with his owners (Marefield Meadows) specifies that Marefield is the only distributor of his frozen in NA.

We bought directly from Marefield Meadows, she had FS here in Canada.

Canada uses the Verband. Just because a stallion is approved for Germany does not necessarily mean he is okayed for use in Canada, so again, this would be something to get clarified before you use him for your Canadian-based Verband-approved mares.

I have no doubt that Dauphin foals would be just fine for Canadian Warmblood or Canadian Sport Horse, however, as his SPT scores and ranking would be acceptable. A breeder using other registries would need confirm permission from their registry before they breed their mare to him.

He has good breeding values: He scores 151 for limbs - meaning he has a very high probability of passing on his legs. He scores 135 for passing on type. He scores 119 for passing on dressage ability. Very low score of 78 for jumping ability, which makes sense considering he is dressage-bred.

A note about those legs: When I look carefully at his conformation picture, he appears to be very slightly behind at the knees. With his strong propensity/probability of passing on his legs, you should make sure you use a mare with very correct legs and who is very, very strong about passing on her legs. Otherwise, he is a lovely boy.

Sylvan - it is obvious you have found a ‘nick’ with your Goodtimes mare. She is quite lovely.

He has a very lovely son, Don Presidente, who has no restrictions, approved Hanoverian. He scored 135.32 (2nd place) for dressage.
I am by no means an expert on Hanoverian rules, so perhaps one of the more experienced Canadian Hano breeders here will jump in and help me out (Sunnydays?) , but my understanding was that if a stallion was approved for Hano in Germany, it’s approved for use in Canada as well, as we are operating directly under Verband rules. I believe that the “not for US and Canada” comment regarding Dauphin is in regards to the purchase of his frozen semen, not in regards to his approval status. I don’t believe Canadians/Americans are permitted to buy Daupin semen from Celle, they must purchase it directly from his American owner Marefield Meadows.

Also, if his index is 151 for limbs, doesn’t that mean he is likely to IMPROVE the legs???
Anyways, he is GORGEOUS and I would love to breed a mare to him, I’m just not sure if I have the right mare for him at the moment.

He is fine for Canada Hanno Verband. Maybe best not to make assumptions.
The stallion owner owns the semen in Germany, therefore the Celle semen is not for import to USA/Canada. If you want it, you need to get hold of the owner directly. Semen is both in USA and in Canada so an easy shipping to any vet in either country.

I have a mare in foal to him for next year. She is Sherlock Holmes-Bold Indian xx. You can see her on this page- about half way down. Her name is Spice Girl.
Dauphin’s owners used to own the full sister to Sherlock Holmes, and we are both very excited about this cross.

Actually, the 151 means of an average starting score of 100, he is improving the legs by 51%. He is improving type by 35%. He is killing jump by 22%. ( This would be figured out by MPTs)
If he was passing on iffy legs or not improving them at all, the score would be equal to, or lower than, 100%.

Hi Forte and Imajacres. You are both totally correct.
I too love this stallion — his breeding, his beauty, and what he puts on the ground. I’ve liked the few foals I’ve seen by him, and mares doing their MPT have been uniformally willing and very good undersaddle. One, a few years back, owned by Ferdi Haupt, was particularly stunning. Just 3, gorgeous, she could even jump and was very rideable (either 8/9 or 8/8).

lol, she had a dam:-)
That is why I am not too worried about getting some kind of jump with my mare as the dam- Sherlock Holmes is a super dual talent.
We wont see this foal/filly in the young jumper classes I am sure, but it wont be a total embarassment over a pole either:-)

Pupping this topic up! Mare is now at 315 days! Foal is to be here any time soon! I’ll keep you inform!! I am SO excited

Sorry, JUST noticed this. Yes, you are correct. No spots for Hanoverian. I should have been more clear. He is owned by the people who were hosting the inspection but he was not presented there. I just saw him in the pasture. I’m assuming he’s registered Oldenburg?

Please post pics when your foal arrives! I am mailing off my stud fee to breed to Dauphin this week. I am so excited and would love to see more foal pics!

My Dauphin gelding Dexter S who looks like the spitting image of Dauphin is 7 and is currently scoring between 68-73% at Third Level and is ready for Fourth Level.

My mare Weingrafin (Weinstein x Graphit x Gotthard) who is a paddock pal of the dam of JazzIt coming foal, has been inseminated yesterday evening to Dauphin as well. The more I see and hear about Dauphin’s offspring, the more I am in love.

Keep sharing your Dauphin’s

lalyho: I will, for sure!

sanctuaryfarm: Have you any pics or videos to share? Wow your guy seems amazing! Lucky you!!

I’ve got a 6 year old Dauphin mare who I just adore! I sent you a PM with a link to a video.

Both Dexter and his 1/2 sister out of Dauphin were in the US American Hanoverian Winter 2011/12 magazine with pictures under Region 1 show ring for last years GAIG Region 1 Championships. I am very lucky to have him.
