Any experience with Cavallo Insignis boots?

I came across these boots and I love the high dressage bow: http://www.doversaddlery.com/cavallo-insignis-dressage-boot/p/X1-380648/?ids=50mwu4tgaf5bsoaakmu54dvr

I’m curious as to the leather quality and how stiff these will be. I was getting ready to order another pair of Konig Dressage Favorites, but these are tempting me!

I have a pair. They are not uber stiff - I hate a too-stiff boot. Like the other Cavallo boots, they are soft on the inside (for a closer contact feeling) and medium stiff up the back and on the outside. They are probably similar in stiffness to the Petrie Olympic model, but with a softer inside leather.

I love them - but I can’t ride in a super stiff boot! They are nowhere near as thick and stiff as the Konigs, so if that is what you like, you may not like the Cavallo boots. But they are way stiffer then something like the Ariats.

They have a pretty comfortable footbed and broke in easily. I got mine through Divoza for much less then that.

Thanks! I am shopping on the overseas websites too, but thought I’d drop the Dover site since it’s in English!

I think my konigs are a softer boot, so maybe these will be similar in feel. I could just upgrade the height on the konigs and go with a known item. So torn!

Well, I ordered the insignis and the boots are GORGEOUS! So, as you can imagine, I nearly cried when I realized it was the wrong size in the box. The company has acknowledged their mistake and will pay all fees for my return of the boots, but I’m still bummed. Before I ship them back across the ocean, if someone wants a steal of a deal on a US women’s 9.5 , 49 height behind the knee, and 36 calf, send me a PM quick!

I ordered a pair of Cavallo Saltaris from Germany, I was told the delivery time is 5 weeks but it took about 10 weeks for them to ship out. I received my boots yesterday and they ordered Varius instead of Saltaris but the measurements are correct, I can’t wait for another three months so I’ll just take it anyway. So angry with them, waited for so long and they ordered the wrong model.

I bought a pair of Insignis boots from one of our great local tack shops – Happy Horse in Fort Collins. I actually had custom boots in mind, but lo and behold, these fit me like customs right out of the box! Thanks, Jen! I love these boots! They are stiff enough – could be stiffer, but still stiffer than Ariats. I need a stiff boot, otherwise my gelding ignores my leg. Beautiful boots, beautiful leather. Thumbs up!

How much do they bow in at the ankle? I can’t do boots that are really narrow through the ankle… these look like they might not be too bad.

Shoe size is EU 42, ankle circumference is around 27cm and calf circumference 42cm but the height is only 45cm. I got it semi custom made because the standard height for EU 42 is 51cm.

How funny that this thread was revived. So I ordered from Divoza and they sent me the wrong size. I shipped them back, called Divoza that I was going to place my very secific calf/width order again. Second time, they again sent the wrong size. Instead of shipping back, I sold them on facebook. Finally ordered from Calevo and it took a few months, but my boots arrived and I showed in them the next day. They are the most comfortable boots I own, but I do not consider them a very stiff boot and the leather quality is not super great, but it’s fine. But I still love them.

I use them as just clinic and show boots and use my konigs for daily riding. I would definitely recommend them. Really beautiful and comfortable boots.

What brand and model? I ordered from Reitsport Zimmermann in Germany and it was a terrible experience, they can’t speak english and didn’t inform me when Cavallo change my order. I’ve ride in my tall boots last week and it was amazing, I think it’s better than my short boots with half chaps.
