Hi,
I ordered a helmet from Tack of the Day a few weeks ago and I haven’t heard a word from them. I have sent two emails with no reply back. Has anyone else dealt with them? Does anyone have a phone number for them?
Thanks!
Betsy
Hi,

Last time I ordered from TOTD and needed to talk to someone, I called Bit of Britain. Had questions answered and great customer service.
I’ve bought from them a number of times and always received what I ordered. Sometimes it does take longer than you would think to arrive though.
It is run by the folks at Bit Of Britain so you can try calling there if you are really concerned.
The items from TOTD typically don’t ship immediately. When you ordered it should have said on the item page when it would ship. Many of the items say 14 business days, so that could be up to 3 weeks, plus the actual time in transit. TOTD is owned by Bit of Britain and I’ve never had any issues ordering from them.
I’ve had nothing but good experiences with Tack of the Day, including them finding someone of approximately my size to try on an item to make sure it would fit before they shipped it!
I’ve had great luck ordering there, but the items did take a while to arrive. They came within the posted timeline, but it was a few weeks. I’ve never contacted them though.
I’ve ordered from them before. They’re a “real” company, if that’s your concern.
A lot of things take forever to ship/receive, but that should have been listed in the advertisement for the product. If you don’t remember what the timeline was, I would assume at least 3 weeks to ship.
I did email them once for something and it took them a crazy long time to get back to me. Something about my email being missed or recorded as spam or something? That part was weird, but they were otherwise helpful.
Thanks for the help!
Thanks for the help everyone! I did not know that it was Bit of Britain. I didn’t notice a ship date but I will pay more attention next time.
I love them and order frequently. It does take more time than I’m used to for delivery but they do state it on the page!
I think I’ve ordered stuff from them 5 times. I’ve been happy with the slow, but reliable service except that one of those 5 times, I never got what I ordered.
They automatically charged my card, thereby taking my money. That’s standard, so whatever.
Then, a month and a half later, there was STILL no update on if my item would ever ship. You can log in to see if it’s shipped yet. I emailed them. I told them I was really excited about my tall boots but was wondering when/if they would ship, as it had been well past the 2 week ship-out date that they estimated. No response.
Suddenly, my credit card is refunded and any purchase history is erased off my account, like nothing ever happened. No apology, no email back, no nothing.
I was happy to get my money back, but I would’ve rather gotten my tall boots. At the very least, I feel like I was owed an apology for them over-selling the product or somehow otherwise screwing up and holding onto my money for a month and a half.
I am now VERY leery of buying from them again.
Ive had nothing but good experiences with them. I bought a saddle from the years ago, have bought many many pairs of breeches, etc.
I have only had good experiences with TOTD but as several have already mentioned, there is usually a notice saying shipping won’t take place for 14 days. Never had a problem with anything not arriving, it just takes a bit of time.
I’ve bought a lot of items from TOTD over the last few years without issue. I did have one purchase that I never received, but it was not without warning. I received an email a few weeks after my order that they’d made a mistake and oversold so they could not fill my order. CC was refunded that day. I was incredibly sad as the order was a for a pair of boots that are now discontinued and you can’t find, but I understand that sh*t happens and they communicated well/refunded in a timely manner.
I do always price-check online before buying. Sometimes you can find the same deal on the item elsewhere, but with a return policy (or occasionally even find the item cheaper). All of my purchases from them have been very good deals I couldn’t get somewhere else, though.
Tack of the day doesn’t have the inventory on hand when they list the items. The manufacturer sends them an inventory list, and they sell off of that so that they only “buy” what they actually “sold”. That’s why shipping takes longer than normal.
It takes a while to get items from them. But, once they did not send something and upon further inquiry, found out they had run out of the item and hadn’t refunded money. So, send tackoftheday a copy of your email receipt for purchase, and ask if the item is being shipped to you. They will refund if they ran out of the item and charged your credit card. But you have to ask for it. Otherwise, great prices, but takes about 2 weeks or so to get the items.
Great to know it’s owned by bit of britain.

I know this to be true as for several months the TOTD people kept confusing my email with one for the Shires rep, so I got a lot of emails about what Shires had in stock and could drop ship for them
Never had any issues with TOTD either. My latest purchase was a great deal on a medium weight Weatherbeeta blanket. Came within the time frame no problem (like another said, generally not shipped for at least 14 days).
