I got this blanket on sale last weekend and just love the colors. While I can make it work, it’s a bit long for Remy. His normal pad is a 30" and this is a 34". Has anyone found a way to make them a little shorter without a lot of folding or doubling up? He’s already built uphill, so I don’t want to roll the front under.

I would probably trim it and then stitch the trimmed edge with a zig zag or some other kind of locking stitch just to make sure it doesn’t ravel. I would cut an even amount from each end so that the pattern of the blanket is not compromised.
The WARP is the thread that goes from front to back (in your case). It holds the entire fabric together. You will probably see that the warp is pulled back up into the blanket to lock it, or tied off, or perhaps there is a hem on the front or back. If it is pulled back up or tied off, you can remove the WEFT that goes from side to side on one end by unraveling it. Then pull the warp back up or tie it back off. If there is a hem, you can just hem it shorter.
Either thing will be a hassle - sorry.
I personally would take it to a saddle maker or shoe repair place he/she has thick needles from sewing leather. I would have him/her cut the blanket and put binding on the cut edge after it is whipp stitched. It should hold really well.
Hope that helped. It’s like hemming knit material but a bunch thicker.
