Any Luck selling SADDLES on Sport Horse Nation?

Just looking for feedback from anyone that took out a saddle ad on Sport Horse Nation? Specifically NON-monoflap?

(I have a custom brand very popular with eventers but it is not a monoflap which seems to be the current trend.)

TIA

Nope! I’ve listed a few there, including a monoflap, and while I received one or two emails on each of them, those listings were not the ones that generated the sale. Honestly, I’ve had more luck with posting in 15+ Facebook pages, TackTrader.com and eBay (though I only use that as a last resort now and would NOT put the one you are talking about on there).

The one you’re selling is gorgeous and I think you’ll get it sold… it just might take time. Remember the one I had? It took me a year to sell it, and it was a monoflap. I had a lot of low ball offers that I declined, though. Eventually sold it to a friend whom it fit horse and rider like custom, for the price I wanted.

Thanks -great advice!

You are a saint -I have no patience to wait a year!

I agree…I had a few emails but Facebook is what got mine sold.

I sold mine on SHN, but one was an Antares dressage saddle and the other a Wise-Air monoflap, so pretty high demand types of saddles. They also were priced reasonably. I’ve done better overall through word of mouth/facebook. My biggest seller was to send them to a trainer with a lot of students. She sold 3 for me.

My problem with SHN is the search. I’ve tried many times to narrow search with zip and mileage and it just doesn’t work. I emailed about it and got response that there was a problem, but they haven’t, fixed it

I agree - the search function on that site is simply useless.

And your saddle is gorgeous…I was drooling over it yesterday on another forum.

I just listed one on there today so I’ll post back if anything comes of it. I figured it’s only $15 so I’d give it a go.

Yes. I sold my Stackhouse the day the ad went up. I also sold an older Ainsley Chester. I’ve also had good luck on Facebook and on Horseclicks.

I sold 2 on Facebook.

I agree the search function on SHN is a huge issue right now. Our tech team has been working for several months on running a number of server updates to prepare us for Rolex, as we’re anticipating well over half a million page views over the course of that week. That means we’re trying to avoid server crashes, which are an unwelcome EN tradition, and issues like the SHN search function have had to go on the back burner right now. It will be addressed after Rolex. Thank you for your patience! If I could wave a magic wand and fix everything right now, I would!

Thx Jenni, I’ll agree that Rolex takes priority!

I would try free options before paying for an ad. Mine sold in less than two weeks after I put it on the Area II facebook page. A trainer saw it and sent a couple of her students my way.
