Any News on Dutch Times Injury?

I’m just wondering how the horse is today. It looked to me like he had a high right front bow when they unwrapped his legs after cross-country, splinted the leg and took him off in the ambulance. Jingles for him and his “family”.

Ok I tried to post the GFM but it is apparently blocked on this forum or I am sharing it incorrectly. Either way sounds like he is fighting for his life with a complete tendon rupture

If you go to the gofundme site and search Dutch Times, it comes right up.

How devastating. Many jingles for him.

Hoping for a paddock sound retirement.

OMG that is heartbreaking! He was so lame. I think Arielle maybe thought that he had whacked himself. As she kept going for a bit. I’m sure the adrenaline was pumping. Hope he pulls through and he can retire with them. They’ve had him since he was a baby.

I’m so sad to hear this… It’s been a true privilege watching her kick-butt all spring/summer in the Grands Prix up here at Princeton. I actually had no idea he was even an eventer too, as it’s such a class show jumper.

What are the chances of a good quality of life recovery here? Sounds catastrophic.

Dutch Times was released from New Bolton Center and will continue his recovery at home. That is about as good of an update as could be hoped for at this stage. Hope the rest of his recovery goes smoothly

Thank you for the update. I woke up this morning wondering how he was doing.

Assuming it’s a full DDFT rupture (although I haven’t seen posted which tendon) and he tolerates stall rest well, the odds are not amazing but they are certainly good enough to be a risk worth taking for a well-loved horse you can afford to keep as a pet.

Certainly wishing for the best outcome possible. I did find this and thought I would share. It was a really nice article done earlier this year by Nancy Jaffer.
