Any owners of a 2014 Exiss 3 horse trailer with living quarters for a review?

Hello!
This is my first post.
I have been scouring the internet for a review of an Exiss 3 horse trailer with a 6.5 short wall LQ (model 7306 1/2) and can’t find a thing. Does anyone have one or similar to let me know how they are?
I know that Exiss has had some bad reviews, but have heard that since being bought out by Universal, the quality has improved. It is in a price that I can afford, but would like to hear from anyone who might own one.

I’ve also never owned a LQ before and want one that doesn’t break down (like ac or fridge) or require lots of maintenance. Any experiences on these trailers would be greatly appreciated!

that is only 7’ wide. I greatly prefer the 8’ wide- every inch counts.

Their EVENT line is better quailty than their SPORT line.

Exiss are mid grade trailers- the rubber on the horse walls will get torn up. The windows are flimsy compared to higher grade trailers. We had issues with lighting problems tied to the LQ conversion, I think, and the dealer never resolved it well. It did ride quietly, the horses liked it, and we had no significant wear issues- but they aren’t top of the line, and I think you know that.

as far as the LQ part- those are typically done by a conversion company, not the trailer manufacturer, though it may be private label work. The AC, fridge etc all have their own warranty cards you’d fill out as a buyer of a new trailer -if you’re buying used I don’t know that they transfer… And LQ requires maintenance, regardless of price point.

I have a 2002 Exiss XT406LQ (I think that’s the right model). It’s only 7’ wide and while I’d love an 8’ my horses aren’t huge and fit just fine. Mine has a 6’ LQ and it’s plenty big enough for 2 people and a dog to camp in for the weekend.

It’s my first LQ and while it isn’t super fancy it’s a nice solid trailer that’s holding up just fine. AC, fridge, etc all work great.

We horse camped in a 7 footer and the change to an 8 is noticeable, I’m talking human comforts, not the horses

We own a 2001 exiss that was a 4 horse head to head. It was converted into a LQ trailer (was custom as they didn’t really make LQ back then). It is 7’ wide, as it was also the norm back then. We have owned this trailer since it was brand new and we have been very happy with it. The LQ is 16’ long, which is too big for the 2 of us. The horse part is pretty much a 2 + 1, and we put the pair of ponies in the back and use the box stall for our carriage and 4 wheeler.

No issues with the product quality, it still looks brand new, no tears or rust, live in quarters looks great, has a shower and toilet and sink. Proper kitchen, fold down dinette, AC and a bed at the gooseneck. My husband has taken really good care of it though and it gets pressure washed after each show, inside and out, it gets detailed every year with a high speed wax and acid washed every spring. Love the trailer and would easily get another one from them (I just purchased a 2015 2 h bumper pull a few months ago as I was very happy with our original trailer).

The only issue for us it now its too small. The LQ is too big and the back part of the trailer is too small. We need to be able to load 2 ponies, 2 carriages, harness, hay/shavings, and our 4 wheeler. We need at least 20ft on the floor at the back (at 8’ wide) and maybe 12’ live in quarters (ours is currently 15’ in the back with the 16’ LQ). We don’t spend much time in the trailer at all at the shows as we are too busy cleaning carriages/harness, getting ponies ready etc. Its a waste for us the way it is right now - and we would keep the trailer if it were just that bit wider, and longer.

I just bought a new used trailer and did a ton of research on trailers. I called two different mechanics, one of whom I’d been taking my 30 year old trailer to forever. He gave me the low down on the issues on various brands and he said never buy an Exiss…too many frame issues. lots and lots of issues. Also no sundowners.

Good luck…
