Any recommendations for LONG western-to-english girth converters?

I have Cashels, and there are only three holes on each side when they are done up properly. That is only enough adjustment if the girth is PERFECT for the horse/padding etc.

There are some on Ebay by Greenriver Tack that look longer, but has anyone used them?

Ideally I want them long enough to use my dressage girths, which I fit very long–so they are just below the flap on the dressage saddle, therefore well above the elbow. I’ve got a bajillion of them for that reason…

And only one 36" which fits the boy fine, but on the filly I can BARELY get it to the first hole with NO pads, and she needs double pads.

Nylon or leather isn’t an issue, I’m game for either.

Recommendations?

Hill View Farm makes several types of convertors. They are a great source for all kinds of tack, saddles and camping items. Go to: http://www.american-flex.com/hardware%20&%20rigging.htm and scroll about 1/3 of the way down the page. You’ll find a western to english convertor which is what I think you’re looking for. I have a set in black. Very good quality leather, longer billets let me use short dressage girths with my Sport Saddle. I find it so much easier to use than the western style rigging.

Thanks so much for that link! I too have the Cashel converters, but they are just a touch short to use on my Bob Marshall with a dressage girth. These look perfect.

I have a friend that is a custom saddle maker and he made me a pair to my specs. They are longer by 4 inches and made of heavier leather. I got my Cashel converters for xmas last year and with only moderate use (2 times a week in good weather) they are already showing lots of wear. Since they are heavier leather I have to use a girth with larger buckles, aussie or endurance, and that can be bad since those girths aren’t as available as dressage girths. However, I think these will last for a loooong time and therefore it’s worth it to me.
