any Suggestions for my horse's ringbone / bone spur?

I have 14 yo WB, 17.1- 87" blanket, with large feet… and he has some arthritic changes on his front pastern. He was competing last year 3rd and then 4th level dressage.

He’s had Adequan IM over the winter, but no feed supplements… (vit/min, great hay) My vet said to shoe the toe with even more break over, but not alot of further discussion…

Are there Joint supplements that help with ringbone - bone spurs?

He gets a lot of turnout: but its so icy, not sure what that’s worth, they can barely mince around on frozen ground. Nights on a soft stall mattress.

Just wondering what I can do regarding his comfort, work load (not much, now) and if its too late for supplements, waste of money… I’m all ears !

I have a friend with a schoolmaster with significant ringbone - she has had very good results with shockwave to keep him comfortable.

Years ago I had excellent results for ringbone using IRAP.

My barn owner has a draft/oldenburg cross that’s just turned 6 years old with high and low ringbone of his front left. It’s imperative you have a farrier who is very familiar with this, as well as radiographs for the farrier to shoe off of for the most comfort for your horse. She put him on Actiflex 4000 which has some of the most potent joint supplement ingredients for the cheapest price, and while it doesn’t slow or stop ringbone, it does make the rest of the horse’s body a bit more comfortable as they compensate and overuse other joints and tendons.

thanks for the suggestions, I will be asking about these things further. Has anyone heard of Acid-A-Cal ?
