I am in the market for a 2 horse bumper pull straight load with a side ramp horse trailer. I would be willing to buy new for zero percent financing. Is that a thing os the past? I think it may be possible if the loan was kept in house. Any other trailer shoppers out there?
I don’t think trailer financing has ever been 0% - I think when I purchased my truck at 0% in early 2021 trailers may have been around 4% if I recall correctly. I’ve been watching the trailer market closely for a while (would like to upgrade to a gooseneck), prices seem to be stabilizing a little bit and a relatively larger selection, but no good financing deals. If you see a 0% financing deal any where definitely let me know
Has it ever been a thing for horse trailers?
They do it with cars sometimes (or they did before cars’ demand shot up the past couple years), but horse trailers are a different type of loan.
Buy an LQ and it qualifies as a second home. You can get a mortgage. Friends of mine did that.
2%? Anything low? Well damn. I assumed since car dealerships do this all the time, or at least did, trailer sales would be doing it also.
Never seen that on trailers. The best rates are often from the credit unions, but they won’t be low. I went through Mid Atlantic Farm Credit for my first trailer.
Horse trailers fall under recreational vehicle loans and they tend to be slightly higher rates than cars. There are also less banks handing them out.
The way interest rates are currently, I’d expect to pay 5-8% on the type of rec vehicle loan you are talking about. Zero chance of interest free.
