I have a 15.2 narrower, sharky, strange shouldered, did I mention narrow, WP bred QH. I had a Royal King roughout with the adjusting tree, chocolate seat, it was real close to fitting him and I liked it.
It was stolen.
I’ve been riding english since my saddle walked.
I dont have a ton to dump into an everyday saddle, but I’d like to get another one eventually.
Any ideas on what I should buy? I can post back pics on request.
I’d strongly recommend working with a good western fitter. If you don’t have one in your area, this shop is amazing: http://www.horsesaddleshop.com/saddlefit.html#.UtLWf9JDs1I. They’re my go-to for western fit, and are really nice and knowledgeable.
what is your price range? that really determines a lot. I have to say, i ADORE my JR Wenger rough out saddle that Joey made me. He will work with you as far as tree fit-my gelding is the opposite of yours-stocky, wide almost cobline foundation qh. The horse had broken four vertebra when he was five…broke off the long spines on the right side in a trailer incident. as a result, he’s a bit of a special needs boy. Joey did a great job of working with the fit of the saddle. this was about 6 years ago and i still love that saddle dearly, and ride 5 days/week.
having said that, he’s not cheap. but he is worth it.
