We got a couple of minutes of video of the hunt leading the Christmas in Middleburg parade on Saturday. The riders, hounds, and horses all looked beautiful and very Christmas-y in the snow!
You can see the video at www.houndwelfare.wordpress.com.

That was great! Thanks for taking video of it. There was about a 1 second clip of me in it, LOL.
You’re welcome! Glad you spotted yourself in the video. It was a pretty scene, but cold and wet!
VERY cold and wet. Our gloves and breeches were soaked through, and the horses were not too happy at how slippery it was.
I’m not surprised you all changed the route. Did you end up hunting at all?
They hunted very briefly, for about 45 min. It was not good conditions (obviously!).
Shoot, I’m impressed you stayed out that long, considering the conditions! But the parade was beautiful, and I hope y’all had a good time–we sure did, watching it!
Yay for Christmas in Middleburg!
Thanks for the video! I didn’t get to see them from that end (I opted to take pix from where they lined up).
A huge thanks to the hunt, too! My mom and I love driving up there just to see you guys (we skipped the rest of the parade and went shopping, hehe). I got some great pix this year too. Sorry, I don’t have a clue how to post them. But thanks for an early Christmas treat every year!
Any other photos out there from the Middleburg parade? I was in it and people were taking pictures left and right, felt like a celebrity! If there are any posted on photo galleries please let me know. Thanks and Merry Christmas!
Those kids & ponies are the CUTEST!!
Are many of the horses shod with borium? I can’t imagine wet pavement without it.
Very few have borium that I’ve noticed, but most have road studs in.
Not from Middleburg but went through there this week to pick up some horses for a gal who hunts in the area and wow! wow! wow!
Just the most beautiful slice of American pie I’ve seen in a long while.
I learned much about the area, hunting, the people and I’m in awe!
Highly recommend the National Sporting Library there!
If you’re in Middleburg, stop in there for a visit. Their website is at http://www.nsl.org. Beautiful art, Paul Mellon’s fabulous collection of weathervanes, and books, books, books about hunting. Great place.
