anybody managed to figure out how to use a whip instead of one leg?

Short story…

Labral tear right hip. Pony that is very heavy on right shoulder.

Aiding to get OFF the shoulder kills me after a pretty short time.

I kind of have tapping his shoulder to get him to move over if I get there before he really falls on it, but was wondering if anybody had any helpful hints on how to do more, cause it ain’t getting any better.

If he was taller I’d use a spur, but he’s a 13.2 icey and my feet are below his belly.

I’d use something more like a sidesaddle cane. A cheaper option would be a carrot stick, though I’d probably cut one down if I was planning to ride with it regularly.

ooh! will check the sidesaddle thing out@ thanks!

Yep, sidesaddle stick or a hunting cane. Something natural wood and already used similarly. M is teaching my pony how to work with one so i can ride more effectively while i slowly build up my left leg again.
