Anybody tried Thinline's seat saver?

Contemplating trying one, but am not sure if riding on rubbertype stuff would be gross or not.

???

I have one, not sure if I like it or not yet. Haha. I’m going to ride without it and then with my fleece seat cover in the next few days to decide if I’ve noticed any difference or not.

I like mine

I have one and I like it quite a bit. It definitely absorbs impact better than my sheepskin cover and I appreciate the lower profile. It’s also much easier to clean. Since the design doesn’t cover the skirt it does occasionally slip a bit over the pommel. I don’t find it to be too grippy or mushy but keep in mind my horse is pretty much retired so we aren’t pushing the limits of extreme sport in the thing. All in all it has made my rock hard saddle much more back injury friendly. Hopefully, I can take it off when I heal but maybe by then I’ll have a wimpy posterior and won’t want to.

I most definitely do NOT have room for something like sheepskin in the saddle.

The saddle itself is pretty comfy - but I’m trying to get my pony’s machine-gun like trot smoothed out and it seemed like maybe the thinline right under my butt would help!

You might find a using a thinline (therapeutic thickness) half pad under the saddle to be more effective and as a bonus it won’t alter the saddle fit for you. There is probably someone at your barn who could lend you one to try since they seem to sprout up in the back of tack lockers like mushrooms.

Yesterday I tried the thinline in the 1/4" thickness…it did seem to help more than the ultra…

Which kind of wierds me out since the 3/16" is supposed to be more for rider comfort…

I’m interested, too. I have looked past it thus far because I have worried that the seams at the side of the seat would cause pressure points or rub.

I’ve been using one for two years and like it fine.

LE- does the seat saver give any extra grip at all? I’m always looking for improved traction under my bum.

I think it does; when I’m riding in that saddle it seems to take the place of wearing full-seat breeches security-wise; and that mare can move a bit fast!
