Anybody tried Vetericyn the miracle curall/yes I got sucked into a RFD infommercial

i’m another sucker who likes this product.

it’s good to have around. i’ve used it on minor scrapes, more serious cuts, various skin conditions. it serves its purpose. my SO even used it on his finger when he had a giant bronze splinter he needed to remove.
and while i never used it in the eye, yet, the fact that i can is comforting. as others pointed out, it’s not steroid based so there is no danger putting it in the eye if an ulceration is present.

I used the product that is specific to the eye and I really liked it and thought it worked great. My vet oked me using it for my mare that has allergies. The only problem with it, was that for the eye, it comes in gel form and the mare did not like that being squirted in her eye. Air pockets would form and they made a sound when the bottle was squeezed.

Confessed to have caved and bought a bottle to have around…
Ended up using it in the cats ears that were quite nasty and he had scratched them raw on top of it (I’m ashamed)

In 3 days of 2x per day they were well!

AND I’m not one to jump on the band wagon with everything out there at all!! I usually keep the old timey tried and true stuff around.

Got it last month to treat a big scrape and it worked pretty well. I originally had bought it for my mare’s puffy eye, but by the time, I had it, the eye was back to normal.

I also used it on one of the barn cat’s ears and it cleared up fast too.

I have used it on a cut/puncture, it did heal up fine. Added bonus was it repelled flys!! I sprayed it on 3x day and it would make a gel like coating over the cut so the flys and knats didn’t like it.

Gotta say, anybody responding to this thread with less than 5 posts automatically goes on my “Yah… riiiiiiiiight” list.

Vetericyn

I can’t speak for horses, but I have been using this on one of my dogs that has chronic yeast and fungal infections triggered by demodex. The difference it has made is amazing. He is actually growing hair back for the first time in over a year and his skin no longer reeks with the smell of skin infection.

Love the gel form. It stays in place on the wound where the liquid sprays just run off. Easy to spray on a wound when the horse won’t stand still for an ointment.

If you haven’t used it don’t knock it. I had a mare with a terrible cut on her that could not be sewed. I used Vetericyn on it and in 30 years of working with horses I have never seen another product work better. Her wound is healed now and only a very thin scar exists where there was a 7 inch long and 4.5 inch wide and through the skin into the flesh cut.I was amazed.I have another friend that had a problem with a fungus infection on the milking cows teats. All kinds of other products were used but Vetericyn is the only product that worked and fyi Vetericyn is identical to a human product called Vashe Wound Therapy which is guess what used in hard to care for wounds.

gingersnapcookies - I guess I am going to be the date police but if you look at the first post it was dated 2009… then brought back to life in 2010 and again Sept 2012…

Glad to hear the product worked for you but - - I would hope by now the original poster has discovered if it worked or not.

But saying that; I guess input from others if anyone is interested in the product can’t hurt…

I’m sad I came so late to this thread, I want a stake in the COTH majikal gold-infused wound healing product!

Lol, when I started reading this thread, I started thinking,“wow, I remember an old thread about this stuff!” Then I looked at the date, and saw that it was the old thread!

It seems to me that, if somene has something new to say on the subject, it makes more sense to bump the old, full of informtion, thread, than to start a new one with no context.

If soemone starts new thread, then, inevitably, someone will post a lin to the old thread.

But future users looking for information would have to follow TWO threads instead of ONE.

I did a search on the holy water a few months ago b/c we carry it in our feed store and I had never heard of it before. It is easier to plow through one thread instead of several when you’re doing a search.

We also carry it in our pet/feed store. We’ve used it several times on major wounds and it does work really well. We had one massive cut and there is no scar now. We’ve used both the gell and the liquid, and I love the gell for it staying put.

Nancy!

I’ve used it and like it, but Dermafas is my miracle product for everything

That is what I said “I guess input from others if anyone is interested in the product can’t hurt…”

However as I was being the date police was bringing up the fact this thread was from 2009 as to not give the OP advice on her choice of magic potion.

Just to add my .O2, within the past week I’ve had occasion to use both the eye gel and the spray on both dog and horse. Horsy did nasty  3-part gash to inside right rear leg, and rescue doggy has goopy eyes.

Both are healing well. In fact, horsy is healing much faster and cleaner than with anything else I’ve previously used. Happy mom here.

BTW, I don’t squirt directly from bottle into eye. I squirt onto gloved finger, pull eyelid, and insert that way. Then stroke and kiss

Oxidized water = Hydrogen peroxide a pint is about a buck at the drug store.
Sodium Hypoclorite = Bleach
Hypoclorous acid = Had to look that one up but again = Bleach. http://www.wisegeek.org/what-is-hypochlorous-acid.htm
Sodium Chloride - Table salt

I picked up a bottle of this stuff on the shelf at the tack store last week and read the label. I chuckled when I read the ingredients then had to spend a few minutes explaining to the nice young lady at the counter why I was laughing. :frowning:
