Anybody tried Vetericyn the miracle curall/yes I got sucked into a RFD infommercial
I picked up a bottle of this stuff on the shelf at the tack store last week and read the label. I chuckled when I read the ingredients then had to spend a few minutes explaining to the nice young lady at the counter why I was laughing. :(
Why laughing? Because it has Hypochlorous Acid (HOCl) as the active ingredient? :confused:

I got their eyewash for my dog who has an eye condition, it performs worse than saline solution (sold for humans in eye care section), the saline solution cost $4 their stupid bottle cost $16.

Have read nothing of this thread, and 3 beers on an empty stomach so plz forgive if slightly incoherent:

Vetericyne = crap.

Tried it on a topical burn due to bad fly spray… nada.
Tried it on a superficial wound… pfft.

Overall, found it to be as about effective as water… which is what they claim it to be: “Oxygenated water”.

Isn’t water, by definition
H=hydrogen
2=molecules
O=oygen…

isn’t it by definition “oxygenated” water?

…more Spaaten…

The woman at my local tack and feed store told me about “Vetericyn”. She went on to tell me how well it has worked for her horses, and that she even squirts it down her throat when it’s sore. I thought that was a bit much, but decided to buy it anyway.

One day, my horse got a very deep cut under his chin about a year ago. I cut the hanging dead skin off then began my meticulous cleaning routine. I did a few Betadine scrubs and and water rinses, then put on the Vetericyn Gel(I prefer it to the liquid because it tends to stay better), and applied swat around the outside ofthe wound to protect it from flies. After two weeks of my daily cleaning/treatment routine, the wound had closed. After a month it began growing hair, and now, you wouldn’t even know he had ever hurt himself there.

I LOVE Vetericyn now and have all of their products!

This is an old thread.
If you read through the thread, you find that the product is 5 percent laundry bleach, with a deodorizer. I’m not paying $30 a bottle for that. I either use Neosporin or vaginal yeast cream for the skin issues, and sterilized contact solution or Clear Eyes to rinse out eyes. Anything beyond that I call in the vet.

Well, I’ve used it for a few years for minor stuff like scratches, and minor abrasions; rain rot once – I don’t think it’s miraculous, but I like it. It seems to work, and is pretty quick and easy to use-- doesn’t seem to smell suspicious to my horse ( he was probably a hound dog in his former life – he always smells everything new quite intently and with much blowing), apparently doesn’t sting – really quite handy and not too messy. I use it on my dogs at times too for the same sort of thing.

Really like this reply - i know it was some time ago but if you are still around i’d be interested to get in touch to discuss further. Thanks.
