Anybody watching the loose horse and debacle by the gate at Ascot?

TVG and something called BEIN HD.

Seems one got loose somewhere between getting his rider and the gate-while the telly was covering fashion. Buick was aboard, unhurt, but the horse (Huntsman Close?) got into the infield, guess he bounced off some parked cars and scattered the crowd. Announcers said he was unhurt but the camera shot when they finally caught and led him off…not so much, front I think, pretty stiff probably right side. Hope he’s just bruised.

Then they got one flipped over behind the gate, no harm, rider back aboard. Another blindfolded and digging in about being picked up and carried in.

Bit more exciting then intended, but, goodness, every race they’ve shown has 15-20 in it, an entire herd of horses 8 across at the wire. We struggle to get 10-12 over here. Even on big, high stakes days.

The big handicaps attract large fields, the Royal Hunt Cup had 30 runners… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q_f-L6Crz2w

Royal Ascot is such a spectacle of racing, 5 days chock full of fantastic racing, from 5f up to 2-1/2 miles. Nothing like it in the world. There’s hardly a bad race all week.

US winner of the big race today, Wesley Ward trained Undrafted winning the Diamond Jubilee Stakes G1, just gets up to deny the Aussie horse Brazen Beau.

Looks like the racing industry is in robust good health over there to get so very many good horses to this level and race them. Nice to see they are getting a lot of youngsters from over here to both race and produce.

They are showing a three generation pedigree of the winners along with the prices. Nice touch. Nice telecast overall as well. Spectacular.

Has Chrome raced already? Where and what was he pointed at? I should just go do a search, huh?

And on his way back to the US for the Arlington Million - at least that is the current plan…
