I was wondering if anyone here has bought or made a barn owl box? If so, what was your experience? Did you get any owls? Did you notice any difference in rodents? Anything else you’d want people to know?
I’m interested in trying it, but the boxes you can buy are like $200, and no one here has time to make one from scratch. I don’t want to just throw away that kind of money if it’s not going to be useful – I mean, think of how many horse cookies it could buy!!!
Lots of kits on Amazon for $50 or so if you can screw one together?
Hmm, I will take a look, but I will not buy anything on Amazon unless it’s from a name brand. Everything else is most likely junk. Thank you

I do have an extremely important warning though. These boxes are easy to make, but do not make the same mistake that we made.
IMPORTANT:
European barn owls are about half the size of American Barn Owls. We made our first box to European barn owl specs. We were idiots. Two years later we changed it and made a new box Two American specs. It is gigantic!
It’s very simple to make, I would hire someone to do it. I bet high school senior or community college kid would be happy to do it for a little money
