Anyone breeding ponies/small horses for upper level dressage?

I just wanted to say thank you for the mention Kealea and Poltroon. I too absolutely love Manchester City and Nancy is marvelous to work with. I think she has one or two of her fantastic WB mares in foal to him for 2016 as well as I’m sure outside breedings.

I once again am fresh out of ponies for sale–Ive not had any for sale in quite some time–both of Blues offspring have sold In Utero for 2016. I do plan to make some more and we are delighted to say he has some top pony mares coming to him in spring so we are excited for his future.

Manchester City has not been bred much, but he did manage to produce the top RSPI Pony Foal in 2014. There were some “big hitters” in the list of sires !

I have had several Popeye foals, and have ridden three of them. They are athletic, good movers, and have excellent temperaments. They are very brave ponies and a lot of fun to ride.
My three year old stallion Pixar by Popeye was recently approved by the ISR Oldenburg, and will be presented to the GOV next year.
Golden State is a beautiful stallion, unfortunately I cannot recommend him because his owner is unreachable, and has not honored a breeding contract from last year.
Twinlights has a couple of fantastic sale prospects.
Manchester City is a fantastic pony. Nancy has wonderful pictures and videos posted on Facebook.
Also, Lisa Martin Gerdes has a young Connemara stallion that is stunning. I believe she has already bred him.
Umm…Golden State’s owner is posting on this thread…

The great thing about Golden State is that he is very proven as a producer, and his owner is very good about showing his progression as he gets stronger and moves up the training scale. He has amazing sit, reach, and fluidity. I hope someday I can have one with that kind of expression and trainability. We are lucky to have such a quality stallion with fresh semen available to us here in the states.

I own Popeye and he did compete successfully through 4th level and was confirmed PSG in training. We switched him over the Eventing a couple of years ago and he is very successful every time out. Usually finishes on his Dressage score. His offspring are competing - both the ones we’ve bred and the other foals owned by other breeders. All have very good movement and ability to move up the levels in Dressage. I did breed several times to Makuba and one of ours was successful at PSG.

I have been breeding GRP’s for upper level dressage for over a decade in Florida at Whispered Wish Weser-Ems. Several of my graduates are out there competing. I also stand the Weser-Ems stallion Burberry who I bought as a foal and is now successfully competing at 4th level and schooling PSG. I don’t have any youngsters for sale at the moment but I am offering one in utero for sale in 2016 by Golden State out of imported mare Hilken’s Gala. Visit my Facebook page or website for more info.

Fluke - with awesome results!

My stallion, Lotus T almost NEVER produces small… Except out of this amazing premium Holsteiner Riverman x Cabaret mare. To my dismay (I am 6’5" tall), she consistently produces 15-15.2h offspring. They are absolutely unbelievably talented movers, they are super-elastic, with lofty gaits, and super temperament and trainability. I just look ridiculous on them
Wish I would have an outlet for them early on.

The Fletchers, out of New York have some outstanding ponies. The farm name is www.hiddenmeadowfarmsporthorses.com/
They must be super busy! They haven’t updated their web site in 3 1/2 years.

“She will turn 2 years old on March 19, 2012.”

Manchester City has not bred much. My fault. I fell in love with him as a two year old and just wanted to bring him home. He is a talented stallion, and his foals are very good. He has now completed his scores for full Licensing, so will I will be better at marketing him. His dam has already produced three Licensed Weser-Ems pony stallions. And there is a full brother coming to Licensing this year that looks super.

CHester had the top foal for the RSPI in 2014. In this Inspection of some 15 foals alone, there were two foals by Totilas, and one by Golden State. Manchester City’s colt was the best of the colts and fillies. What matters in a stallion is of course how he himself competes, but most importantly, how he reproduces himself.

His sire The Braes My Mobility is still producing foal champions in Germany. I have little doubt Chester could do GP in the next few years. I have seen everything I need to see to believe this.

While not typically a dressage breed, I stand a Connemara stallion that, I’ve been told by several top GRP breeders and WB breeders, is one of the best movers of his breed in NA. I’ve been requested numerous times to have him presented. He just completed his first season at stud and had a full book of lovely mares. Mainly WB and TB. So it will take a little time to see if he can rate as a dressage type stallion, he certainly won’t take away from a mares movement by any stretch.
He will be presented to the appropriate registries for licensing. I had wanted to send him to the SPT this year, but I felt his full book and full time training was enough for this year.
Feel free to check him out…
