Anyone buy? sell? adopt? from Brit Le'Brand Farm Warsaw Ohio?

Nick

Well a person I know inquired about Nick this spring. And at that time he was “worth” $20,000. Glad she did not pursue the horse. To many red flags for her:yes:
And the insurance thing was part of it:eek:

Nick

I don’t know, but the picture of him she took recently sure doesn’t do anything for him. I would expect a $20K horse to look a heck of a lot better than that! And I am soooo tired of reading that she’s “returning to college”! If that’s the truth, then do everyone a favor and stop acquiring these horses, go to college, and STAY THERE!

This post doesn’t exactly have anything to do with Britney—only in the sense that it brings to mind the problem(s) that I have with any “rescue”. A number of years ago a friend of mine looked into adopting a gelding from a rescue. The rescue was legit and an adoption fee was required. But after reading the contract and realizing that no matter how long the horse was in my friends care, if she found that she could no longer keep said horse, it had to be returned to the rescue for rehoming by them. The problem that I saw then and still see now is that a horse is a big finiancial investment and after feeding, veterinary care, farrier, training, ect. I felt (and still feel) that said animal’s ownership should pass to the adoptor after a specified amount of time—perhaps after one year. Ultimately my friend purchased a nice little gelding for only $100 more than the rescue’s adoption fee. Her intentions were always to keep her horse “forever” and yes, she still has the gelding and he is now 33 yrs young! But, my point is, from the time she purchased him ALL decisions about him were hers and hers alone. I suspect that this is also why some people do not adopt their pet dog and/or cat from the local shelter as these shelters usually have a rather large adoption fee and you must sign a contract that requires you to return said pet to the shelter if you can no longer keep it. I’m not knocking the shelters as we need them and it would be nice if more pets were adopted through them. I just believe that ALL pets/animals adopted should belong to the adoptor (no strings attached) after x amount of time.

The biggest handicap about adopting a horse from Britney is the price tag - it comes with a lifetime of grief from Britney… you can’t ever get rid of her.

?

She is back up to nine horses from what I can see. Honestly, shouldn’t she be dealing with less and less since she doesn’t have time to devote to these horses instead of acquiring more? Or maybe she is finally running her business the right way?

Well if she never really “sells” them, maybe she is getting alot of returns:lol:

sory i havent been around…i have totay lost track f miss B and have no idea if she has my pony still…like isaid she sent me a thing saying my mares died and she had my pony still, but i think thats total b.s. if anyone is aound there and sees a small dappled shetland with white main and tail and almost a chocolate color with a smeared star on his forhead PLEASE let me know…his name is buddy…

Mandy, have you posted anything on the Missing Horses part of this site? maybe you could post your note along with the description of your babies and any pix you might have?

Mandy-re:pony

have you looked at pics she has posted on equinenow.com? at one time she did have ponies on there…

yeah i have been watching, but hve come up with nothing, when i post things on missing horse sites she says its slander…b/c i “donated” my horses to her fake ridding program…

Mandy…

Is there a way you can post on those sites without doing that? What I mean is post it stating that you donated the horse to a riding program and you have reason to believe the horse is no longer there and you have pictures and what not. If anyone knows could they please contact you. Wouldn’t that work? Because I know how you feel about wanting to know what happened to your horse. I sold a mare I had and I still don’t know what happened to her because the people I sold her to will no longer speak to me…why I have no idea. (That situation has nothing to do with Brittany) Good luck and I hope you find out something.

just curious…

Anyone out there know if someone finally bought “Nick”?

hmmm…

Googled “B” today and someone else posted that they gave their two horses to “B” for a retirement home…hope they did their homework. The horses names are Georgia Rabling and Sun Rea. Just makes me wonder since she has had some new ones posted on equinenow.com recently.

Let’s see…“downsizing” and “owner going back to college”… where is the part where she stops taking new ones in and turning around to sell them at a decided profit for her?

internet sellers

here’s an interesting article…guess it isn’t confined to good old Ohio

due diligence…

If people are “retiring” their horses to “B” obviously they’re not doing their homework. Of course, speak to her and she comes across sweet n’ sincere…I started this thread because when I googled I only came up with a horse she was leasing to a breeding farm in upstate NY. They actually had a thank-you to BLB on one of their pages…so, I proceeded unknowingly into the dark ensnarement…

Just purchased from Britney at “Belle Greye Haven Stables”

Can someone contact me PLEASE about this girl? I just purchased not one, but two horses from her!! The one horse went down in the trailer on my way home from picking him up from her, and today he went down in the crossties and fell in the aisle. I have had him in rehab for the month that I’ve had him home due to injuries he sustained from the trailering incident, and now I still cant ride him because of his new injuries from falling down in the crossties today!! I told her I was purchasing this horse for my 12 year old daughter. She assured me that he was “child safe”! LIES!!! How can you put a child’s life in danger like that?? The other pony I got from her has been lame since the day I brought him home. Cant use him at all. Nice. My number is 330-571-5007. Please call me with any info you may have on this girl!
