Anyone buy? sell? adopt? from Brit Le'Brand Farm Warsaw Ohio?

[QUOTE=Anselcat;3421940]
OMG, don’t get the COTHers going on this project. Pretty soon you’d have a whole horse skeleton and a bag full of ashes to send to her.[/QUOTE]

I found a dead mouse, rather shriveled up, but I’ll be glad to donate him. Not to mention Mrs. Long, our black snake who committed sewerslide by hanging herself. I’ve left her hanging there, cause it’s kinda cool looking. But for a good cause…

I actually can get access to an entire horse skeleton if you want it.

Hampshire,

I’m in Ohio and trying to rehome a lot of horses right now… are you looking for anything specific? I do adoptions w/lifetime contracts, but the horses that I rehome are direct seller-to-buyer sales (no contracts from USHO). I’m just marketing them because the owners have asked for help.

Your welcome to look at our site www.usho.org. I can give you references that I view the horses like kids… once they’re fit to go, I want them off the farm and really don’t want them back unless something goes wrong.

I have a yearling draft cross (Sunflower) that is very cute, but she won’t be a jumper for quite a while. Her mom is a belgian and only God knows what her dad is, but she’s has a nice (non draft) face and is going to be tall with only a slightly heavy built. She’s wicked smart. She would be from USHO on contract and my adoption fee is a free choice donation.

These are NOT USHO horses, but looking for homes:
A very nice (temperment) chestnut TB, owners are asking $750 for him. ( see: http://www.usho.org/JohnnyC.html ) I’m getting photos this week.

I’m also placing a 17.2 sound/clean TB, owner is asking bigger $, but I know he’d be negotable on it, no web page, but I have photos that I can send.

I have another TB, chestnut w/star, CANTER horse, 16h, too much horse for novice beginner, but nice otherwise. Has a suspensory issue that makes him not suitable for heavy lesson schedule, but is ridable, not sure exactly what is the suspensory issue.

Kami

Bullridr1, I would bet that the gelding for $1 is my Gus. The lack of details other than same age and bay is interesting. If he is my Gussie, I’m fascinated to know how he went from a former California grand prix jumper rehab project to a gorgeous, outstanding, super sweet RESCUE HORSE gelding that is now a permanent pasture pet. After the $1 sale price, am guessing that her “forever contract” price tag is several hundred $$ a month… Gee, wonder if the films from our vet showing the rotated coffin bones and the navicular clued her in that he was not a “rehab”?

To your second question, yes, Britney lives with her parents on the Sturtz family/Brit Le’ Brand farm in Warsaw, Ohio. Unless her parents kicked her happy butt out of there since Thursday when my husband and the Coshocton County sheriff dropped Gussie off, she STILL lives in Warsaw, OH. Coshocton, OH is a good 10 miles away. Maybe it’s her evil twin Skippy that lives in Coshocton? [edit]

I have been following this thread closely over the last couple of months and I think that “anuphillbattle” said it best on the crossed sabers thread when talking about mental illness and the behavior that these two (Britney and Celeita) exhibit. Probably the most defining characteristics of the Narcissistic personality disorder is their lack of empathy, they view their problems as the fault of others, have trouble working with others, poor insight and limited thought process, and have a limited ability to accept criticism or negative feedback. It is unfortunate you all have been a part of her world and I hope she can get the help she needs. The only problem with that is, she doesn’t have a problem:no: Good luck to you all

Britney Sturtz

Just adopted/bought a TB from Britney in Warsaw OH. Any advice is appreciated. Horse is not as described and at least 300lbs underweight. Probably not sound either. Worth seeking legal advice? Willing to share all emails and information! (864) 787 6468 or just email me.

Good luck Canopach [edit] she lives close to me but i wouldnt go near her place with all the bad stuff ive heard about her now…

Found it very interesting that in recent days she had four horses “for sale” on equine.com but today all the ads are pulled. Not on dreamhorse.com either. Maybe she’s giving up…for awhile.

No Kidding

Yeah - I checked today as well and found nothing for sale. What a shock! [edit]

Can you send me the link to the crossed sabors thread?

http://www.chronicleforums.com/Forum/showthread.php?t=116746 here you go

Canopach01, go back to the first page of this thread and give Hampshire a call. And yes, might be worth pursuing legal advice. Re-read your “contract”, am sure it will say all litigation must take place in Coshocton County, where lo and behold she has a lot of relatives in government jobs (like the cousin who runs the local humane society/rescue, how nice to have options!!). Also pull the Ohio version of the Deceptive Trade Practices Act, which features triple damages for fraud, misrepresentation, bait and switch practices, etc. etc., and you can also be awarded attorneys fees. Can’t remember the Ohio revised code section, sorry, but should be easy to find. Also check out the Ohio AG’s website under consumer protection and see if there are any remedies there.

We returned our “adoption” horse Gus with the help of an officer from the Coshocton County sheriff’s office, who told my husband to stay in the truck, unloaded the horse, walked the paperwork back and forth between my husband in the truck and Britney/her parents standing up on the hill. If you are returning a horse to her, would recommend calling and requesting sheriff escort, they were helpful and the return was uneventful, at least for us. I still have nightmares worrying about Gus. Good luck to you…

Lisa Holigsworth is an OH equine lawyer of some greatness:) I so wish soemone would just cough up the $$$$ for a lawyer to shut people like this down, but you have to pay through the nose to get nothing back:mad::mad:

Thanks

DogonTired - Thanks for your advice and believe it or not the contract states nothing about where legal proceedings must be held. Of course [she] isnt answering my emails, texts or calls.

Wow, it’s an unfortunate risk we take–just believing someone. As the thread indicates, I too am “in contract” with Britney–as you are: adopt/sale. [edit] We have sought legal advice as well. I’d be happy to share with you the advice we received. I too, ended up with horse not accurately represented. I’d love it if I could trace who my horse really is. Her description of him correlates so closely with the kind of info crossed sabres/swap provides, I suspect he may have even come from there–but who knows?! I never knew about SWAP/crossed sabres existence until someone on this thread noted the resemblence. Britnery probably counts on getting some back and then continually may sell/adopt them out…
Well, at least this thread serves as a warning to others. As stated by the other replies, Hampshire is going the distance with her. If possible, lets stick together and not let her win…

MPACK

Please contact me at 864 787 6468 or email me directly with your contact information if you dont want it posted here. Anyone that wants to stick together on this and finish this once and for all feel free to contact me. Lovngustil@aol.com
This is one [person] that needs to be stopped.

Check your “contracts” w/ [her]. If it does NOT state that any disputes, litigation, etc. must be brought in Coshocton County, OH, then you may be able to sue her in the county where you reside (and mpack, in your case, the state where you reside).

New ad on dreamhorse-Warsaw- 19 yr old mare “for sale $400” but ad states adoption contract only. No contact name listed, emails monitored for scams/fraudulent emails. Pictures available upon adult request. Could this be hers:confused:

Dreamhorse ads for Ace and “beautiful mare”

looks like she’s at it again…

Please avoid unsubstantiated criminal/unethical allegations, name calling, personal insults, etc. You’re welcome to give feedback on your personal experiences with this rescue/individual, including the nature of the contracts/business model utilized in placing these horses, but do so within those parameters.

Thanks,
