Anyone else have a terrier?

I too have a mini schnauzer & she is the light of my life. She is LOYAL, smart & stubborn - in that order. True to her origins, she loves to burrow & sleeps under the covers every night. She is a love bug & is suprisingly great with our cats. She tolerates other dogs & plays well with them, but in the home environment, she makes it apparently clear that she’s the baby! My husband & I joke about the “loyal” definition - basically, she would kill for her 5 people in the world that she loves & could care less about anyone else. And she always has to have the last bark. I try not to be a breed snob, but I don’t think I’ll ever have anything else.

Her only caveat is the vacuum :frowning:

My Schnoodle is the BEST dog ever! Jack is smart, sweet, loving, loves to horse show and is great with the horses. He’s also quiet…unlike our neighbor’s border terriers! They show them and when they are home…oy! The barking. Thank god their house is 5 acres away.

I had an Airdale a few years ago who was wonderful. Got him as a wee puppy and soon discovered just how stubborn they can be. Took forever to leash train him, but once he learned to grab the leash with his mouth after I clipped it on, he was perfect on the leash. Things had to be on his terms. I’d love another one–maybe one day. Mr. CC didn’t like him, so I’d have to work around that.

My daughter’s dog, Buster:

He is “some kind of Terrier mix” according to my vet :). He is suspicious of strangers but loves snuggles with the family, my daughter especially.

I grew up with a -get this- German Shepherd/Fox Terrier mix. Short and all terrier, but colored like a Shepherd. SMART to the core. Easy to train. Memory like an elephant.

I currently have a Padderdale Terrier mix I adopted from Sunkissed Acres. Missy dog is the best farm dog. Loves to follow that very over-active terrier nose, but stays on property. She doesn’t usually walk straight, tho. Her tail is going so fast, she curls around it

I will always have a terrier or a terrier-mix. Love the temperament, the smarts and the energy.
