Anyone ever bought a Samshield from Europe?

They appear infinitely less expensive. Reputable websites you have dealt with?

Royal equestrian was excellent, lightening fast shipping and significant cheaper than buying her in the US.

I’ve bought two from Europe. I believe both from Redpost…but now I can’t remember.

Reputable sites I’ve used:

  • Fundis (I’ve seen terrible reviews but I’ve only had good experiences)
  • Redpost
  • JustRiding

Totally worth buying over there. I have two miss shields and I also bought my Helite air vest from one of those sites.

Glad you had a positive experience, but I cannot recommend AGAINST buying from justriding.com enough. Recently had an absolutely abysmal experience with them, can look at my previous thread on it if you wish.

I didn’t buy a helmet, but had a successful experience with Fundis buying a D’yon bridle I just could not find on this side of the pond (and then a few other things on sale because why not ).

I bought a Samshield for a friend from equishop.com a few years ago and it went smoothly and the price was significantly lower than buying here. I think they are in Poland. I just bought myself a Uvex helmet from them and again it went well, just took a little time as it was on backorder, but they let me know so I wasn’t worried.

Not a helmet, but I’ve bought Samshield show coats from Hypostore in the Netherlands and Royal Equestrian in the UK. I had excellent experiences with both and prices were significantly better than in the US. Just be sure you know your size as the shipping costs make returns/exchanges expensive!

Yes! Recently from Equiport. Great price, shipped super fast.

I bought a Samshield from Royal Equestrian. Shipped fast, and even with international delivery it was far cheaper than buying it here.

Not helmets, but I’ve also purchased from Hypostore, Equizone, Equijump, Emmers, My Breeches, and Fundis. Fundis used to be more affordable, but I’ve found their prices to be in line with US prices for most things these days.

Another vote for Fundis. I have gotten two premium Miss Shields from them at significantly better price than stateside.

Sooo many threads on here recommending against buying from justriding. I ordered from them once and had a pretty bad experience although I did eventually get my order after several months.

I bought my Samshield from Redpost. I’ve used , Equisport, Amira Equi, and Redpost a few times successfully for other items. Currently have an order pending with Hypostore (so to be determined)

I also had a not so great experience with Just Riding coupled with Tucci having significant delays. I found their communication good and they were happy to make things right, but it was a 6-9 month process for custom boots since the wrong pair was made by Tucci and I had to return them. 🫣

I bought one from Equishop years ago. It was indeed cheaper and came promptly. My only complaint was that I had a fall after I hadn’t had it very long and couldn’t use the replacement discount that many retailers offer - not sure if that’s just a US thing or if the language barrier got in the way or what.

I’ve also bought a Samshield helmet from Europe. much cheaper and prompt shipping.

I will note. I’ve had multiple Samshields so I think it was just the way in which it was pulled off, but the “S” came off of mine and has a big chip on the brim. Samshield actually has a workshop they can repair minor things like this or add new customization. ( see here - https://www.samshield.com/en/content/16-after-sales-service ) IF YOU ARE BASED IN THE U.S. you must go through a specific contact to have your helmet shipped in for repair. (For a $800+ helmet this was worth it to me). However, when I contacted the email/# on the Samshield website I was verbatim told “because I didn’t support American business she couldn’t help me” And, I can’t get in touch with the European shop to have them send it in.

I’m hoping I can send it in, then have them ship it back to a friend in Ireland who will send it to me, I don’t know what else to do.

I’ve made purchases from both Fundis and Equishop.

IIRC, I initially ordered a Samshield Shadowmatt from Fundis but there was a crazy long wait time for it to ship so I cancelled the order. I got my refund surprisingly fast. Huzzah!

I then purchased the same helmet from Equishop. I got it really fast with a free, promo helmet bag thrown in.

However, I realized I needed the premium liner - shoutout oval heads!

I went back to Fundis for the liner for whatever reason (okay, they got me with the swift refund and I wanted to show them some love). It was in stock and arrived pretty fast, too.

Again, if I’m remembering right, there’s some small print at Fundis that will tell you before purchase how long you can expect to wait for your item to arrive, so watch for that!

So, no complaints about either. Even having to use customer service to cancel the first order. I was worried because you had to do it by email and the instructions were pretty specific (read twice, cut once, to mangle the old expression). I was pleasantly surprised at how smooth it went.

All that said, now that some of you have brought up the replacement policy, I may take that into consideration next time I buy a helmet.
