Curious that there’s no photos of her riding, and that she doesn’t have a last name anywhere on her site.

Yes, I noticed same thing. A little research elsewhere suggests the surname is O’Higgins.
The photo on the home page is of a student.
Looks like the site may still be under construction.
Ite O’Higgens? Well this is really foggy in my memory, so may not all be correct. At one time, was Ite O’Higgens-Young, I think, and possibly lived or at least spent some time, in Ohio, I’m thinking 20 or 30 yrs ago. At some point, may have wanted to or actually tried out for the Irish dressage team. I think it was she who bought Federlicht after Robert Dover finished showing the horse, but the horse was sold down shortly after, I don’t think Ite showed him or showed him for long, I don’t think the horse was brought back to the US.
There are some pictures of her riding on this web site, she taught a clinic at this place, and is described as ‘Ireland’s representative to the World Cup’:
http://www.blackreignfriesians.com/news.cfm
She is listed as the trainer/instructor at Buckleigh farm, in Aiken. Kim Schisler says on her website, that she leased a schoolmaster Kir Royal from Ite and that Kim got third in the Brentina cup. Ite also has a pic of herself riding a Friesian on Facebook. Ite is not listed in the FEI rankings or list of registered riders, if I do a name search, but I may not be doing it correctly or she may no longer be competing. I would think she would be a really experienced trainer/instructor after so many years.
yes, there is a bio on the site and google brings up that sort of information but I assume the OP is looking for personal experiences.
Sorry, can’t help.
You’re missing a few issues. Since no one has responded with any personal experiences, the above information is better than no responses at all. Otherwise, some people gossiping that the person in question is a poser or has nothing to offer. At least this way people have plenty of business contacts they can ask for more detailed references from.

Where do you see that? It was mentioned there was info lacking from the website but, as I pointed out, it appeared to be under construction. Period.
No gossiping here. All the insults have been dreamed up in your head.
Anyone ever thought that maybe she doesn’t own the rights to photos she has over herself competing? And maybe she can’t (physically) compete anymore?
Not that I’m saying that’s the case, but I do know of some really great old trainers who can’t compete anymore and yet teach very well. (Thus the reason the USDF has the instructor certification, rather than instructor/trainer.)
trainer info
Thank you. I was hoping to hear from someone that had trained with her. The photos from the other website of her riding do look impressive. So…maybe her website is not complete. I did see from some searching that she had been in the Atlanta area for awhile. Maybe I will find some info there.
I would really encourage you to follow up. She was a very well liked person in this area as I recall, and very respected going back many, many years ago. Not a personal friend, of course, but someone we looked up to and admired going back many years. There are so many people who have great knowledge, just don’t have the bulletin board presence.
Honestly, SLC2 and Egontoast, must you both assume that each time the other posts, that it’s a personal attack on you? I don’t know the history between the two of you but must you both endlessly jump on one another? I was kind of thinking the majority of it was Egontoast pouncing on SLC2 (though, truthfully, SLC some times sets herself up for attack…) but as it was, just above SLC doesn’t read Egontoast’s post properly and assumes she was insulting her, which obviously (in this case) she wasn’t. Perhaps SLC just figures every post from Egontoast is an attack on her, since many are…In any case, it’s getting a tad annoying.
I’m in full agreement. Usually I don’t respond at all, I just started as I was getting a little tired of it.
If you have a problem with one of my posts on some other thread, Olga, please report it because there is no reason to chastise me on this thread, is there? Nope.
The poor OP. She’s looking for someone with actual experience with this trainer and despite wading through all this, she’s still waiting!
OP:
I was hoping to hear from someone that had trained with her
and then we have slc:
Usually I don’t respond at all, I just started as I was getting a little tired of it.
Good grief. Tired of what? Well fortunately it’s all there for anyone to read. Again, I say, poor OP.
We removed some posts to keep the thread focused on the main topic. Please keep the personal issues with other posters off of the board.
Thanks,

Thank you, moderator!
OP, please let us know what you find out!
I know her name, but don’t know her. Some of her students are listed on her website, perhaps you could find them to follow up:
