Specifically the The “PROSERIES 3IN1” horse magnetic therapy, massage and heat blanket. I saw a session on an online auction for the use of the blanket. Just wondered if anyone here has used it and its effectiveness. Sounds like a good idea, if it works well.
I groomed for a rider who used this blanket often/daily, great results. If I could afford one I’d buy one in a heartbeat.
Anyone else? I’m going to be renting one for a month (cool April deal: rent for 4 weeks, get to keep it for 6) to see how it goes with my horses. But still interested in hearing how others think it is!
@eponacelt, I know this is an old thread, but how did you like the blanket rental? Did you notice any difference in your horses after a month of consistent use?
Not eponacelt but thought I’d comment anyhow. I was interested in the Sports Innovation because it was stronger than Bemer and could do PEMF plus massage plus heat all in the convenience of a blanket system.
I rented it for a month to try before I bought, and I’m glad I did. It was huge and heavy, and tough to get on the horses without a second person to assist. No way would I have wanted to lug that around to shows. I was disappointed because I loved it in theory. I ended up buying a Magnawave.
Ah yes, I did know the 3-in-1 was quite cumbersome. I take it you didn’t use it enough to notice a difference in your horse?
I used it for the month - heck, I paid for the rental . The horses seemed fine with it (like they were fine with the Bemer) but I didn’t see them getting zoned out like they do with the Magnawave.
I can’t say that I’ve seen a performance difference (that I can specifically point to) with any of these things. But my guys are all super relaxed when I use the magnawave, especially on their back/withers. Like, stop eating hay and close their eyes relaxed. So I figure if nothing else, at least they like how it feels.
Interesting! Can you share which Magnawave device you got? I hadn’t really considered those since I thought they were 3-4x as pricey as the blankets, but it looks like some may be in the $6k range.
Even this one is “hands free” and has a 1-50 Hz range, not unlike the SI blanket (though I think that goes higher, not sure how important that is). https://magnawavepemf.com/product/klick/
The Spiro Klick looks interesting - that must be new because I didn’t see it when I got mine. I bought the Sol (not the Sol Pro). I also got the XL wave wings (which I use more than any of the other attachments) and the pet mat (which I use at home for my own back).
I got some Dewalt toolboxes (TSTAK with wheels for all the attachments, TSTAK deep for the magnawave - I can open and use the magnawave with it still inside the toolbox, and the TSTAK shallow double compartment drawers for the cords). Makes it easy to contain and move all the various and sundry stuff you need.
It’s definitely not as convenient as a blanket, which is why I was hoping I’d love the Sports Innovation thing. The Spiro looks like a nice compromise - although you’ll have to be around to move the attachments (or hold the attachments if you’re using any that don’t drape over the horse). I’d have been very interested in that if they had it when I bought mine.
Well, I liked it so much I bought it. It is heavy, but there’s a method to putting it on relatively easily and I just put it in a cart when I carry it at a show. I have a horse with back arthritis and it makes a difference. I can put it on her while I muck or do other barn chores before riding and she gets the blanket 2-3 days a week. I think it has been really beneficial.
