Anyone Have This Issue With Oster A6 Clippers?

So, last year I got a set of Oster A6 clippers, and overall I’m pretty pleased with them, except when clipping anything but ears, bridle path, and muzzle, the hair goes RIGHT INTO THE GAP between the blades and the clipper body, gumming up the drive shaft within minutes. These clippers supposedly have an “improved” design that prevents this, but when clipping against the grain as one is supposed to, the hair is at such an angle that it literally goes right into the gap. It took me forever just to clip my pony’s white legs yesterday because I had to keep removing the blades to clean the hair out of the clippers. Am I doing something wrong, are the clippers defective, or is there a way to fix this?? Help! I’m hoping to trace clip my guy soon, but if these clippers are going to get bogged down every five seconds, it’s not going to go very well.

Hmmmm.

I have these and have for years. Heavy use. Multiple body clips, multiple horses, multiple times each winter.

I’ve never had a similar problem.

My newest pair are probably 10 years old however. If they are “new and improved” I would suspect a design flaw.

Contact customer service if you haven’t already.

The A6 is the “new and improved” model… just came out last year I think… so not the same clippers you are using! I have contacted CS but was wondering if anyone else has come across the same issue.

Why, o why do companies feel the need to ‘improve’ a product that has proven its worth for decades?

Almost always the new product is inferior in some way.

Out of curiosity, do they still make the old model?

Good luck. I hope they do right by you.
