I’m looking into taking one out on trial used, and was wondering if anyone had any experience with one!
I have one that I custom ordered. Very well made saddle. However, I am extremely unhappy with the fit for my horse. Still waiting on a 2nd fitting from the rep. But, they really are a high quality saddle.
I have one and I love it. Not sure if you have a particular question, but I have a Stabilizer, an Innovation (which goes on my High AO/GP horse), and a Sensation on the way. But at the end of the day it’s all about how the individual saddle fits the individual horse. I had one Innovation (bought without trying it on a horse) that didn’t work for the horse I had hoped it would, and so I sold it and bought another through the rep. Both were N trees, but the panel configuration was different.
I keep trying to break my County “rut,” but my horses just go better in Counties than any other brand I’ve tried (and I’ve tried a lot!).
I just bought one. Upon arrival, I was not overly impressed (I am used to French saddles), but my horse was. I gave it a chance and my horse went so well in it I bought it. I then oiled it and am AMAZED at how much of a difference that made. It was a reddish color and I thought slick, but it was brand new and really needed oil and break in. Now it’s dark, lovely, sticky and soft. I got the ‘bull’ leather. I have to say…I’m a convert. My horse is happy and comfortable and I now like it too.
Have had one for 6 years and love it. Fits my horse, fits me, super sticky bull leather, too. I have an issue with the color of mine, but that’s another thread…
You will either like it or not, there isn’t much middle ground. Have you tried other styles of County saddles?

I haven’t had the chance to sit in one yet, but the good thing is that I can have it out on trial. I just can’t find a devoucoux that has a forward enough of a flap used that I like. I WANT a new Devoucoux, but with my father skimping out on paying for my college tuition at the 11th hour… that isn’t in the cards. But that’s a WHOLE different thread!
I don’t now, but I’ve ridden in a quite a few of them as I ride at barn with a lot of County fans. They are very nice, well made saddles, but I, personally, do not get along with them. They’ve all put me in a pretty bad chair seat, except for one, which is WAY too small for me (16.5" seat and short flap, when I need 17.5" and long forward flap). The Stabilizers work better for me than the Innovations.
I spent a year and a half looking for a used saddle that fit me well, I ended up with a three year old Devoucoux Oldara, 17.5" with 3A flaps (long/forward) that fits me well. Needing a forward flap is a problem when shopping on a budget, so I feel your pain.
I am awaiting my Innovation!! Can’t wait… They have some trial saddles for sale at a good price on their website… I just couldn’t find one that was the right width and panel configuration. If I had, I would’ve scooped it up.
I ride in an Innovation! I am in love with it and so is my horse. Very VERY well made saddle and very high quality. Fits my horse very well. Some people love them, some don’t. I love mine

I ride my hunter in a Devoucoux and I love the saddle, BUT if your horse doesn’t go well in a dev, they aren’t a good buy. I will say that they are TOTALLY different saddles than County…I have an Oldara, but have ridden the Biarritz quite a bit too…great saddles that don’t fit my new jumper. I find that now that I’m riding in the County more and more, I really like the balance, but it’s a very different ride.
I LOVE my innovation! I started my county search determined to get a stabilizer. When the rep came out and I rode in both, there was no question the innovation was the better match for me. I love the deep seat and more forward flap. I got mine with a long flap as well and it’s just awesome. Very pretty and comfy saddle. I plan on keeping mine for a looooong time!
I’ve had my Innovation for 8 or 9 years. Love it! The saddle helps me stay in the correct position, and it’s very secure. I also have a Stabilizer, which I don’t like nearly as much. You really have to try it for yourself. Good luck!
I love my Innovation, which fits my TB perfectly. I am going to try to find another one in a wider tree that will fit my WB, since my Devoucoux fits him but not me.

You can order the Stabilizer with a more forward flap too, or an Innovation with a straighter flap etc - if you’re shopping used, you’ll tend to get Innovations with more forward flaps & Stabilizers with straighter flaps as that’s how they tend to arrive in the standard demo kits used by the reps
