anyone here using taylored tack's 3 in 1 bridle?

the one that is a halter, a sidepull and a regular bridle?
if so, how do you like it?

Never heard of it. Can you post a link? I tried to do a search and came up with nothing. Sounds interesting.

Thanks

Marta,
Sorry for taking so long to respond.

I think I have what you speak of, but I got mine from SS Tack. It is black biothane, and it is a sidepull with a halter strap and ring under the chin. There were also bit hangers that came along with it.

Honestly? I ended up ordering check pieces to use the headstall only. I found that trying to use the bit hangers with the sidepull and halter still attached was very cumbersome, with the rings of the bit catching on the rings fo the sidepull.

The add-on bridle from Canadian Tack is on sale right now. Might be worth looking into. Otherwise… were you looking for a specific reason we can help with?

Wow, her stuff is gorgeous!!

I LOVE Amanda’s “Taylored Tack” products. They are drop dead gorgeous in design and materials, and wear like iron!! They are well worth the price, believe me!! She is also the NICEST person you could ever want to meet, has super fast service, and can make stuff to order if you have special needs.

I originally bought (at an endurance ride) her halter/bridle (Purple Haze overlay) because it was so eyecatching. I was so delighted with it – it fit my horse beautifully and the synthetic material was wonderfully soft and pliable, yet super tough in wear and usability – that I called her and ordered the matching breastplate and dog lead. At a following ride I got another set (matching halter/bridle and breastplate in Meadow Lands overlay) in a different color. Unfortunately, that just made it difficult for me to chose which one I want to use at the rides - they are both stunning!!

I use both bitless by just attaching the reins to the noseband/chinstrap buckle. I carry the bridle attachment with me, but have never used it. I may just add the sidepull to my Christmas list, however. Must remember to leave the list – including Amanda’s website address – where my DH will find it.

I highly recommend Taylored Tack products for anyone who wants quality BEAUTIFUL trail/distance tack. Amanda is one fabulous lady, and endurance rider – she knows her stuff!!

thanks all!

amanda is amazing to work with.
i cannot decide whether to get the 3 in 1 or just a plain schooling bridle. i already have a dr. cook’s bitless so really i don’t need another bitless but the design caught my eye.
i am having such a hard time deciding what to get. and just when i thought i decided (a schooling bridle in royal blue beta with yellow padding) i then started having doubts about the padding.
someone smack me please!
i’m sure by now amanda’s patience is running out, too;)

diamond jake,
i just need a new bridle. when i competed i used dr. cook’s. we’re done competing (suspensory injury) but we’re still on trails so i wanted to get a beta bridle that can be used with a bit for use on trails (horse camping, hacking) and in the arena. i really have no need for quick changeover from bit to bitless, or bridle to halter. i was just intrigued by the concept. but again, i have dr. cook’s and am perfectly happy using it when i want to go bitless. so i guess i really just need to decide which bitted bridle to get from her and whether to get padding or not.

any thoughts?

Wow! I just checked out her website and the prices are a bit high. I’ve ordered custom biothane headstalls from:

http://www.sportack.com/cms/index.cfm/path/94789/96913/96322/96321/

at about half the price and they are awsome! I’ve had two bridles for four years now – one is bright blue and the other is hunter green overlay on black – both just get a hosing off for cleaning and shazzam!! Good as new.

canterqueen

i looked at sportack’s website.
i personally think it looks like there is a reason for the price difference. amanda’s stuff looks to be of higher quality and definitely more choices than sportack offers. of course, that’s just the impression i get from the photographs. didn’t actually hold sportack’s bridles in my hand. but i did hold amanda’s bridles and they feel and look great!

At those prices, they better feel and look great (and make breakfast):yes::winkgrin:

LOL!

i tried my friend’s zilco bridle yesterday that converts into a halter. i HATED it! i don’t care for zilco at all but the whole halter/bridle design drove me insane.
so this sealed the deal for me.
i’m going to get amanda’s schooling bridle. now i just have to decide on the brown band and whether or not i should get it padded on the crown piece, brow band and noseband.

Marta,
You must just have a lot of money to toss around. :D. It’s Christmas, so toss some my way!!!:lol::lol::lol:

CanterQueen -

You get what you pay for…and in the case of Taylored Tack, it is BREATHTAKING equipment that is strong and well able to qualify for hard HARD usage with superior comfort to the horse…and for the rider.

My purple set is over a year old, has spent long, sweaty hours on the trail in competition and in training… and still looks brand new. No hard/harsh edges or feel to it at all – it is soft and pliable like fine leather – yet it is synthetic material built to last. Never, ever a rub mark in the least – not what I can say for other manufacturer’s stuff that I bought from other vendors – sets that looked nice on the racks, but now are unattractive and looking quite used and cheap (even tho they weren’t). Those sets now spend their days hanging on the bridle racks in my barn, dusty and unused.

marta - you’ll be overjoyed with the quality. WELL worth the cost!

damn girl! you make me sound like a rich bitch;)

we’re talking $25 to $30 price difference for a plain bridle.
if you only knew how much $$$ i “blow” on my mare on regular basis;)

NO, I don’t think you’re a rich “B”, I’m just jealous!! :yes::yes::yes:
