Anyone know much on the Stallion Mr. Blue?
Isn’t he an '04 model? Looks like a fresh and naughty 3 year old to me - and I’d probably be acting up with that incessant chirping going on. :uhoh:
Zirocco Blue would be 3 years old in the Youtube video linked on this thread. The video is from 2007.

I’ve heard that Mr. Blue needs a larger framed mare and Zirocco VDL seems to substantiate that claim… Do you know how tall he is, Majestic Gaits?
Zirocco is 1.68 m which is 16.2 h. He had a very good foal report indeed. His dam was 1.72 m so he might even give bigger than himself.

He was a fantastic jumper and his offspring in europe are also. A very good bloodline to breed to.

Warmbloods mature slowly. He should not have been jumping much when he was 3 or 4 yoa.

I was just doing a quick Google search to see when Mr. Blue passed… this was a bit of a fun thread to dig up  Oh how ZB matured, and how valuable Mr. Blue has become since his passing!

Agreed! I cherish my Mr. Blue broodmare

God willing, we will be using both Mr. Blue and Plot Blue next year…of course, that depends on the mares and the vet’s opinion of frozen for these ladies.
Plan A is:

Mr. Blue x Anouk (Heartbreaker x Nubha, Landon)

Plot Blue x Faria van de Moortelshoeve (Querlybet Hero x Wokina vd Moortelshoeve, Nabab de Reve)

hope I didn’t just jinx it.

There are several “Mr. Blue” studs if you check the German registries.

There is a stud in Ireland breeding and offering a stallion by the name of Master Blue. Incredible jumping talent and wonderful, affordable offspring coming out of him. Bonmahon Sport Horses and the stallion’s name is Bonmahon Master Blue. He has since passed away recently but many offspring still available I believe

I have a weanling colt by ZB (Holsteiner premium foal) out of a premium Connor mare from stamm 162, and another one due next year

I adore Plot Blue, mareslave. make sure to post pics of your babies if your breedings work out!

Zirocco has certainly matured over the years. I had the pleasure of watching him school on the flat the day before the VDL Stallion Show a couple of years ago. While he certainly has more than enough blood in the ring, he looked calm and focused during his ride that afternoon.
