Anyone purchase La'mundial boots??

My friend was measured for a pair at the Royal in November '10 and the boots arrived yesterday. They are gorgeous. The quality, fit and “look” are nicer than my DerDaus. I kid you not!! Not to mention, they are 1/2 the price of the DerDaus. I will order a pair this November.

Be prepared for THE BIGGEST YEARLONG (OR LONGER) HEADACHE OF YOUR LIFE…

Event1, I’m so sorry you were disappointed. :frowning: In “my” case, I am thrilled. My custom DerDaus took 2 1/2 years to be sorted out. That’s why I was so happy to see these boots turn out so well.

Me and many, many others…:frowning:

On this note, I understand that the guy doing the measuring at the Royal is “the” master fitter for the company. Theoretically, if he doesn’t fit you right, nobody will.

I thought long and hard (very long and very hard, in fact) about ordering a pair at the Royal last year but demurred after reading too many horror stories. Am still toying with it though…

Across Sicily, my coach’s husband was measured by the same gentleman last year and he told me today, his boots are gorgeous and fit beautifully. After my nightmare experience with DerDau, I am looking forward to getting a pair of these.

I ordered a pair for my daughter a couple years ago at Rolex, they came in about 3 months and fit her well, she has not had any trouble with them in 2 years but isn’t exactly tough on them.

However I have seen event1’s saga first hand and fear for the hide and wellbeing of the LaMundial rep at Rolex this year :lol::lol:

She has been through absolute HELL with service, fitting, getting hold of someone that I don’t think I would order from them again.

I learned from my experience with DerDau to “stay the course.” Was measured in November of 2007 and FINALLY had satisfaction in May of 2010. I kept sending them back and calling and even sent my “perfect” show boots to them to copy. Was “remeasured” at the Royal in November of 2008 and again in November 2009. For the record, my boot size is an “off the rack” size 6, regular calf, tall. No special measurements required. I guess every boot has a horror story somewhere.

Event1, I really hope you get yours sorted. I know how horribly frustrating it can be. :frowning:

A good friend ordered a pair while at the WEG in September. She said the rep took a ton of time to measure and remeasure her (like 45 min-1 hour). Her boots came a couple weeks late, but she did receive notice from LM that they would be late. It was winter and she was in no hurry so no big deal. They came mid-January and are drop dead gorgeous, fit like a glove. Absolutely no break in time. I really really want a pair so I contacted the same rep. They have no fitter in my area so they recommended I do the measuring myself. I am hesitant to do that and am going to wait until I can get to a big show with a rep to measure for me. I think good measuring makes all the difference!

I completely agree with the measuring issue. I will wait until the Royal in November.

I just got my La mundial boots in the mail today that I ordered in November at the Equine Affair. I couldn’t be happier with the boots. They fit like a glove and are gorgeous. They were about a month late but I contacted the company and had a very quick response. I’m very happy with my experience with them.

I’ve had mine for 4 years now and love them. They were measured in Oct at Capital Challenge and arrived in January. Beautiful fit, buttery soft leather, and super comfortable.

I really do think a lot depends on who does the measuring. I’ve had friends who had nightmares with both Vogel and DerDau, and others who have had great experiences.

IMHO, custom is always a crapshoot as far as fit goes, so the most important part is the customer service. Luckily, mine fit beautifully, so I never had to experience LaMundial’s customer service.

Waiting for my second pair! the first pair i bought 3 years ago, and they are still perfect! I have worn them almost every single day, winter, summer, spring, fall, showing, schooling, everything. My new pair should come in next week, they will be shipped on Friday.

Do Not Bother

I ordered custom boots from La Mundial at the World Equestrian Games on Oct. 3, 2010. I did not receive them until the last day of January 2011. They were made incorrectly and the calves were way too small. The zippers would only go up 3/4 of the way. It took 3-4 weeks of emailing the company before they finally replied and sent me a return label. I sent them back March 3, 2011. It is now May 19th; still no boots and no one will reply to my constant email. They actually had a booth at Rolex April 28-31, so I spoke to a rep there and explained my problem. He seemed rather chagrined and not surprised by my complaints. He took my info and promised someone would be in contact with me that Monday. It has been three weeks since then and I am still waiting for that call. I was so looking forward to having custom boots, but this is just not worth the trouble. My most recent email requested a refund and cancellation of my order, but of course, I have not received a response to that either. Judging by the other complaints I have read, I will have to contact my credit card company to reverse the charge since La Mundial is not in the habit of issuing refunds…

Mine were sent back twice…they said they would cover all the shipping costs…they didn’t. Mine are currently too small and sitting in my closet waiting for some energy on my part to see if I can soak them in alcohol and get them on. My hope being they will stretch with the alcohol and being worn. They are beautiful but such a disappointment and simply a tease at this point since I can only look and not wear. I realize any boot company can have a problem getting customs to fit like a custom but dealing with the shipping and the language barrier has compounded the experience into something I no longer want to deal with. So the pretty boots are closet decoration.

I was going to order them for myself as a Christmas present. Due to this thread (and many others) I stayed away from this company and dished out 1K for Willson & Davidsons.
They came in 7 weeks are are brilliant.

: )

Nightmare company to deal with

Ordered a pair for cubbing at Upperville horse show this year.
They came 4 months later after repeated phone calls to Ecuador the wrong leather, the wrong color, the wrong size. I sent them back and the company refuses to refund my money. The owner, Roberto said he would make 2 pairs for me instead - asked him to put it in writing in an email - nothing - said he would call me right back - nothing. I would absolutely not ever do business with this company again. Probably the worst company I have ever dealt with. Avoid like the plague.

Go Dehner. Longstanding American Company. Yes, you may have to wait several months if you don’t order in December, but they are gorgeous and will last forever.

I got my Dehners in 1979, and they are still beautiful!

Two people I know just ordered these, even after hearing the horror stories from others. I was also in the market and as tempted as I was by the price, the bad rep was more than enough to convince me to pass. I’m curious to see how theirs turn out!
