Anyone *recently* imported from the Czech Republic?

Hi All,

Looking at a gelding and wondering if anyone had recently brought one over from the Czech Republic? I haven’t imported in about 7 years and only from the UK, Denmark, and Holland. I’m guessing prices have increased significantly since then and I’m assuming you’re looking at a very long haul to Amsterdam which adds to costs as well. I’m on the East Coast and wouldn’t need a shipper from quarantine to me, but I was hoping someone might have done this recently and been willing to give me some estimates for what it cost them so I have any idea?

I’ve been shopping in the US but haven’t found what I’m looking for. This horse is and would be within budget as long as shipping isn’t significantly more than I paid before, but I don’t want to bother companies for formal quotes yet.

No idea the cost but we had one come in as a layover from the Czech Republic before it went where ever it was going. It was with Horseflight www.horseflight.com you could call them and ask.

I didn’t actually talk specific costs but a few people locally imported quite a few horses from the Czech Republic and they never mentioned anything about the cost being a substantial increase (or any increase). I’m sure the seller would have some idea about what it costs.

My trainer recently imported two Czech WB about a month and a half ago. I know it was a bit discounted since she had two horses versus just the one. But I believe she said the shipping costs total (including all trailering, layover, and flight) was under 8K for two horses. We’re on the east coast too and that price did include shipping from NY to VA.
