While I await whether a saddle fitter/leather worker friend of mine can come give me a second opinion on if we can make it work for this pony and get it back into better condition, I’m curious what it might be.
In my honest opinion it looks to be a relatively cheaply constructed homemade saddle from cheap materials. I would be concerned about the material and condition of the tree before using this saddle, as well as the actual condition of the leather itself.

Yes – that is exactly what I was thinking. I have a friend who is an hobbyist but talented saddle/leather worker and even though she could tweak it to maybe make iit work – she isn’t certain we can get the leather softened up enough. She said exactly the same thing about the quality. I’m always so curious about saddle, origins and logos. Thank you!
