anyone see the 2018 Tevis cup webcast?

It was wonderful! And I love it that a BLM mustang won the Haggis award for best condition, and that a 27 year old Arabian gelding finished successfully in 13th place, making 100 miles in one day look like a walk in the park!

Yes. I was following a client’s two horses who finished in the top 20 and two friends who completed together but at maximum time. It made for a long night, tracking the progress of the second group, but was great to see them complete.

The webcast standings were a bit time delayed but it was still good to be able to follow everyone. I think there were some glitches for watching the riders who had selected the GPS tracking system.

Reports from my riders were that it was really hot out there, especially in the canyons. And, with the smoke from the Carr (mostly) and Ferguson fires, the views were not so good. Pretty hazy skies.

Not complaining, it was really great to have this ability to follow riders. Wish the completion rate had been a bit higher.

Yes! My friend was doing the webcast, it was a long day for sure. I was sweep riding (that is the safety teams that follow the final people) in the darkness early Sunday morning. Everyone has worked and trained so hard, and has an amazing story to tell, it is quite an experience.

I followed along!!! Thanks to those that volunteered and made the ride possible. And those that made it possible to follow along.

I noticed the relatively low completion rate I didnt realize smoke was an issue. Still amazing to even get to the start line at Tevis.
