I have owned and used a pair of these for about two months now so I’ll offer my 10 cents worth. I like the pull on style and the easy care. They do feel sneaker-like and dirt hoses off easily. You have to be careful not to hose too high up on the boot though or water will seep into the sock knit portion. Dry them off with a rag and you’re good to go.
Speaking of feeling like a sneaker…I have high arches and as such, use high arch insoles in my sneakers. It feels like its time to change out whatever is in the footbed for an insole because I’m starting to feel that overpronation “lean” when I wear these paddock boots. I just hope the boot isn’t too tight with an insole because I bought my size and while very comfortable, there is but a scant bit of wiggle room.
I use my leather half chaps (different brand) and when I ride in my dressage saddle everything is good. When I ride in my jump saddle this is where I run into an annoying issue. The sock part at the top of the paddock boot wants to come out the back/bottom of my half chaps. I don’t notice it when I’m in the saddle and notice it immediately as soon as I dismount. I just remove the half chaps so it solves that problem but if you ride multiple horses this might become a major annoyance. I could buy the matching Ascent half chaps but I don’t like the look of them and there is no guarantee they wouldn’t do the same thing.
When these wear out will I buy another pair? Likely not. They are comfortable and easy care. Just not head over heels in love with them.
