Anyone try Tipperary Ride Lite Protective Vest?

As best I can tell, it is not certified. It advertises that it provides extra padding and impact reduction.

I’m considering this vest for my daughter, who rides low-level hunter jumper. She had a child’s Charles Owen, which she wore for a while but now complains is too stiff and uncomfortable.

I was thinking maybe this happy medium is better than nothing??

I have it. I’m super short waisted and most of the off-the-rack vests were too long. But I’d swear it’s certified. I’ll check it tonight and report back.

Does it lace up the side? None of the ones designed that was can be certified.

No, the Ride Lite is not certified. I own one. I also own an Airowear Outlyne vest that is certified. Compared to the Outlyne, the Ride Lite feels pretty thin and flimsy. But, unlike my Outlyne, I can wear it when riding in my western saddle because it is short enough not to bump against the cantle.

You might want to try one of the Tipperary Eventer vests. They aren’t certified either, but are more substantial than the Ride Lite and are still very light. I’ve never actually seen a Charles Owen in person, but I think the Tipperary Eventer vests are probably lighter.
