Anyone try Tipperary Ride Lite Vest?

(Posting this here as well as in h/j.)

As best I can tell, this vest is not certified. It advertises that it provides extra padding and impact reduction.

I’m considering this vest for my daughter, who rides low-level hunter jumper. She had a child’s Charles Owen, which she wore for a while but now complains is too stiff and uncomfortable.

I was thinking maybe this happy medium is better than nothing??

I have one. In a kids’ size, too.

The Ride-lite is less bulky than other body protectors and the foam isn’t as thick, but it fits well – very adjustable – and you can wear it under a coat for competitions.

If your daughter is doing h/j, it’s probably fine for an extra layer of protection. I wear mine most of the time and don’t really notice it. The two kids here wear the Ride-lite as well, and we’ve had no complaints, and no complaints after falls.

We also have a couple of Charles Owens and no one likes them. Way too stiff.

I have one (also a child’s sized one) and I love it! The Tipp Eventer isn’t sertified either and it’s what everyone wears (though there is a certified version now). I like it, it is very adjustable and comfy.
