Anyone use a tri fold truck tonneau cover AND haul with a Gooseneck? Does it work?

Guys at the shop swear that I’ll be able to hitch up and trailer my gooseneck with a try fold tonneau cover folded up in my truck bed. But I’m always leary of believing salesmen. Would love to hear from anyone with experience.

My truck is a 3/4 ton short bed, with the 6’6" bed length. I do miss the old long bed I used to have but this sucker is paid for and does its job well. I want a tonneau cover and don’t like the velcro sided kind. And I can’t afford the rolling up hard kind. I need a lockable safe place to store luggage and stuff in the bed when I’m driving the truck without the trailer. But I’d like to be able to hook up the trailer without having to unmount and remove the tonneau cover completely. So I was looking at the try fold hard tops.

I don’t have a gooseneck, but I bought a vinyl tri-fold cover and love it!

I have this one:

I know it’s not the hard kind you mention, but mine is so ridiculously easy to install and use, I have no doubt it would be fine for your gooseneck. It folds back securely or you can pull the entire thing off the bed in mere seconds. I have a locking tailgate, so I personally feel stuff is pretty secure in there just by removing the visibility factor.

I know it’s not specifically what you asked about, but I’m really impressed with it, especially for the price.

Don’t have a gooseneck, either, but our truck has the ‘hard’ tri-fold cover. It is very easy to remove if needed, and can also fold back and rest against the back window if we don’t want to remove it. It only takes up about 5" when completely folded up.

Yes, I had a Trifecta tri-fold on several Ford Super Duty trucks with short beds, and a 4 horse Featherlite gooseneck. Hauled it all over for 7 years without an issue.

I have a tri-fold tonneau cover, and hook my GN up easily every single time. Only thing is, you can’t crawl into the box at the front, I have to go from the back of the box and crawl in to hook up the chains and lock the ball. Still have no issues, and love it.
