It’s the ultrasound therapy device that you can leave on your horse and have it treat for up to 5 or 6 hours.
If you’ve used it, do you think it helped? And if so, what results did you see?
Thanks!

I’ve never used it, but as a sonographer I’m interested in what others have to say. The physics behind the device is sound, it does make sense on a cell level. I could see purchasing one for a rehab facility or a large A barn, probably not worth the $1200 for an individual though.
My only concern would be leaving the device on for that long unattended. While the output power of therapeutic ultrasound is significantly lower then for imaging ultrasound it does still produce heat. Not using enough gel or an equipment malfunction could potentially result in some serious burns.
We have one, we never have left it on for that long, we only leave it on for 30-45 minutes. I can’t comment on how well it works really as we use a lot of other therapies in conjunction with this, but it definitely isn’t hurting. We use it on horses with tendon injuries, and place the device right where the tear or sprain is.

Feel free to give the company a ring but I think they have safeguarded against that worry pretty thoroughly - I believe the unit shuts off entirely when the gel level is no longer “thick” enough or present to be used safely.
It was explained to me by an equine physio (featured in the WEG preview issue) that what separates this product from anything else on the market in this vein is that it is simple and safe enough for anyone in the barn to use without fearing overuse or misuse to the point of damage.
I have one and have had great luck on splints, tendons, and have seen a pair used to treat sore hocks. And when I’ve used it, I dab on the gel, wrap it on the leg, then put a standing wrap over it, and leave it for the night. Have not experienced damaging heat / burns / or anything negative.
Reach out to Brian Collins - he’s on facebook - he’s a great guy and would be happy to answer your questions. Their office is very friendly as well. They make a human unit as well, called “Sam” I believe. As far as I can tell, their science is pretty sound and I have found the unit very easy and effective to use.
Not a rep for the company by the way Just a very happy customer - and I asked a LOT of questions before I bought it.
Thanks for the replies and information it was very helpful!!!
